new spark plugs

yeah i got it.. only thing i had problems with was the socket i had wsa the wrong size.. so i got the right size one. They only has two different sizes.

so basically I rip off the black cover and then remove the rubber gromets and pull them out, then I stick the wrench down inside and start twisting to get them out right?

Well .. not so much rip ... LOL ...
Unscrew the allen bolts so the cover can come off.
The rubber boots pull straight up vertically, and may need some effort to get them out if they are sticking.

Remember to to turn the wrench counter clock wise to loosen and clock wise to tightes. (Easy way to remember: "Righty tighty, Lefty loosey" - LOL)

ok gotcha, I was doing it when it was slightly dark last night so I oculnd't really see the plugs in the holes, I thought I was going crazy! :lol: now I know I don't have to gap the bosch plugs, but how would you get a tool in there to gap them when the spark plug tool will barely fit in there?

Oh and how far down are the plugs down in the holes?

this is the idea of gapping... the tool should bairly fit in their... no room should be left with the tool in whatsoever.

Mohammad, you are not understanding what he is asking. But yes, there should be no room in between the tool and the plug tip when you are setting the gap.

delphis, the plugs are gapped before they are installed, while they are still loose in your hand right out of the box from new.

I see a lot of people leaving the cover off is this safe to do as the spark plug cable might come flying out while in transit and be banging around on the insdie of the engine compartment?

you mean the plastic cover that got "Daewoo" written on it??

their is no problems in leaving that out... the spark plug cables got a metal clip at the end which holds firmly on the spark plug tip so it won't let go that easy.

personally i like to keep the cover on... it looks neat.

That would probably keep heat down though.. but it would realese the heat into the entire engine bay instead of keeping it more in by the cylinders so i guess it may not help
