BosCh +4's install...

Post by delphis »

Do I have to gap these spark plugs? I just got a set of 4 for fairly cheap 4.99usd each which I was told by my friend isn't a bad price. And if anyone has any pics that can help me out as I have never done a spark plug change before. thanx!
:D

Nope... multi -ve electrode spark plugs are not gap-able... just install them as they are.

make sure to put on that grease stuff made for sparkplugs. its like a dollar at any autozone (you only need one) and you just smear it on the threads of the plugs so that when they heat up they won't get stuck in your engine. it just makes it easier down the line for you if you ever want to take them out for any reason.
oh and i have the exact same plugs.

ya I got the grease, and how do you like these plugs nick? I have never taken out my stock plugs and they have never been cleaned, so I am sure I will notice a difference.

someone also said before here on the forum that it should also help with rough idling, is this true?

usualy this happens because the old spark plugs are dirty and all but still the spark from them super 4 will help keep the idling smooth.

give us a full feedback when you install and test them so we can refer to that whenever people need feedback on that issue.

BTW what car do you have??

they're pretty good plugs. i noticed a difference and it was fun for a few days until i got used to them  that reminds me i should probably clean mine its been about a year or so now. and the idle is pretty decent but i need to do a tune up anyways so its not that great now but it was.

well I went to install them today and I had no luck due to the fact that I didn't have a socket wrench extension with me and no one at my work did either(I work for a music company too) oh well I will go home and dig one up and let you guys know the results.

Also what is the hose for that comes out of the uper right hand section of the cam (I think) right next to the oppisite ends of the spark plug wires?
