Post by kinkyllama »

Im not really sure how to go about doing this... First off im pretty sure it'll fit with the hood but not certain yet.. i cant take off my intake now cuz i gotta pick up my gf soon.

Image

first off... is this the O2 sensor?

Image
How the hell do i get the thing in the picture above (o2 sensor?) in the intake? i cant drill a hole cuz the plugs squarish.

okay thats not your o2 sensor. the sensor is like a circle. when you take off the correct one it'll look kind of like a little microphone. you'll know what i'm talking about when you find it. actually i'm not sure what it looks like for your car but i'm pretty sure thats not it. (someone correct me if i'm wrong) but the o2 sensor should fit into the hole where the plug is at if the hole is too small thats when you drill. that line you see is the line for the oil or something(don't remember exactly what its called) basically its the line where you can put a breather on. i had ran into a snag with that b/c the line that came with my intake was smaller so i just stuffed the smaller line into the original one and connected that way.

i hope that helps

you know what i just noticed. with that plug did you disconnect it from the tube? if so the part thats left in there still is the actual sensor part and you need both.

yeah it'll pop out its just a bitch to get it out. even worse if you try to get it back in like i did.

nick

*edit*
oh and don't make the mistake i did. i drilled the hole just a hair too big so now my AIT(not o2) sensor is a bit loose. if you make it the right size it'll be a bitch on a bad day to get back in.

 dude with that i really don't know what to tell you.

i remember telling you on the other posts before about the intake method but i never talked which intake to use since i don't have your top mount set-up. the only thing i can think is that if the cars they(whoever told you the model to use) was either wrong or the the people that you bought it from gave you the wrong intake.

damn man that really sux. i know how it feels to get something and its the wrong part.

the throttle body is the same for the car i bought this for... and i think they gave me the right product... thing is though is the product isnt what the claim it is.

Its supposed to fit an 01 civic which has the same type of throttle body. Yet theres no way it'd fit a civic. The money isnt even though worst partt.... its how long this damn thing took.

Took a week to find.. and week to get in the mail... the guy refused to do 24 hour shipping to.. along with 2 other ebay stores. Otherwise id just get a new one soon. blahh... im going to try to make it work somehow

What about gettin rid of that plastic adaptor to the TB. Maybe that will give it enough clearance to drop onto the TB and clear the hood, later you can duct tape it to the TB if it fits.

I hate being the guinea pig for new parts, I was once one too, with the Aveo coil. Now I guess we know that a Honda Civic intake won't work on a Forenza.

well dude if you find the right one i'd hurry up and email the pricks that sold you the intake and tell them you want your money back unless they stated all sales are final. but it was their mistake so they should still be able to get you the right one in return for the wrong one at the very least. i'm really pissed to see this crap happen to people

well just try to find something that'll make it shorter on the end like maybe a smaller coupler and if the AIT won't reach just keep the black plug in the intake and drill yourself a hole on the side you need it at.
and yeah i'm pretty sure duct tape would melt.

I highly doubt duct tape would melt, the TB never gets "that" hot to melt through plastic, besides, duct tape was meant to be used on Heating/AC system ducts because it has superior temperature handling, I've never had duct tape melt on me, only had the sticky goo leak out over my tool box.
