for spark plugs use NGK or Denso... i tried both and they are working fine... also Bosch super 4 are fine too.
as for fuel filter... i don't know if it is available in other places other than the dealership but i suppose it is.
if you want to clean it just take it off after you depressurize your fuel system then block both ends and shacke it well for a few seconds then blow in it in the opposit direction of the normal gas flow... this will remove most of the dirt in it then put it back on.

yes you just buy the spark plugs but you have to gap them correctly (i think it is 1.1mm for the 1.6 engine) and they bolt on to the head... their is a special socket to remove the spark plugs but that is to protect the ceramic insulator thats all.
if the spark plug wires are not leaking power so no need to replace them unless you are getting thicker ones.
to gap a spark plug (or during any gapping job) you need this device that is called a feeler.
that feeler is simply a bunch of metal plates with different thikness in a set that is no larger than a swiss knife... you just select the plate with the thikness you need and make sure the plate fits in the gap with no free play at all... that way you are sure that the gap you got is exactly as big as you want.
for a spark plug you can tap the -ve electrod a bit to make the gap smaller or use a small flat end screw driver to make it bigger and keep on measuring the gap till it is correct.
for the 1.6 engine i think is is 1.1mm but i am not really sure... i have a 1.5 SOHC so i never memorized the correct gapping for the 1.6 DOHC
if that is the case then you have NGK with 2 -ve electrodes as OEM spark plugs... those are not gap adjustable so you just buy the new spark plugs and install them.
multi electrode spark plugs are not adjustable so dual, super 3 and super 4 spark plugs require no adjustments whatsoever.
