Daewoo Leganza Electrical Problems

Post by anmlfrnd »

I have a 99 Daewoo Leganza CDX, last fall my digital a/c heat controls stopped working completely, I replaced the control panel and still did not work, I looked at the wiring behind and found no cuts, all fuses are good!! So i never got working, now the equalizer on the radio is not working which means i have no radio! Any thoughts on whats going on would be greatly welcome! Thanks and have a good weekend!

Perhaps there is a point under the carpet where the wire is being pinched, pulled or rubbed.

Given you didn't short anything it almost sounds like a breakage in the copper.

I get this quite a bit with my truck installs because I have to run a 10Gauge power wire from the battery/breaker/solinoid in the engine compartment all the way back to the rear box.

Sometimes guys will catch the wire on a root.... which pulls on the wiring.

The wierd thing is that I get cases where the insulation looks fine but the copper inside is separated by almost 1/8".

Electrical problems are really hard to trace unless you have experience.

I wish I could help more but these are the types of problems that can't be solved very easily by talking about it on the forum.

It's made in sections but you would need a detailed wiring diagram of the entire car to be able to get decent results.

If I was doing this repair I would first locate the wires attached to the device that isn't working.... check for a good ground and a good +12V power source with a digital multimeter (as per the wiring diagrams)

Next I would trace each wire from section to section using a digital multimeter set on the lowest resistance (or the diode check... which usually beeps when it sees zero ohms of resistance )

If all the wiring looks good and the correct signals are found where they should be I would start looking at the units themselves ( which you've allready tried )

Hopefully this helps a bit.... sorry I can't be more specific.... I don't know much about the Leganza wiring.
