on 1.6 DOHC the two marks on the cam gears should be pointing towards each other.

yeah same happens to me if it sits for like a week or so. i think its the valves just tapping b/c the oil hasn't been circulated. it usually goes away after a day or two at the most.

it goes away with in 10 minutes but i think its just the lifters... dont have any oil from sitting.. dirty... who knows but its gone away now.

i ran some engine cleaner through it and it made it louder and then i changed the oil to a cheapy walmart dyno oil.. and ran it for like 2 minutes and it was gone. after i drive teh car for a while.. atleast 20 miles im going to run more engine cleaner through it and change the oil too??

whats a good oil guys?? i like running synthetic something that isnt over 30$ for 5quarts

i am using Mobil one and the OEM oil filters, i replace both every 3125 miles and my engine never complained from oil related problems for the past 6 years.

good luck man... cleaneness (spelling) is a very healthy thing for cars... allows you to spot leaks and all very easy and it is better looking for sure.

the only thing that is cleaner than my engine is a brand new Woo at a show room.

That sounds like the lifters, that's its very common on Vaux/Opel engines.

My lifters sounded a bit while it was running.

Mine is cleaner than the day I bought mine. There was this tar like stuff all over my car that they said they'd remove but never did.
