Boring it out is easy, as it is only aluminum, a good shop can do it pro, or you with a little rotary tool and a few hours can get a larger diameter more crudely.

question for you guys:
If I just upgrade my throttle body to the one of Nubira's without boring out the intake manufold, would I still be able to gain a few horses?

it is hard to tell man... assuming the OEM TB and the intake are of the same bore and you did the swap then you will reduce the ristriction at the TB... you still got some ristriction at the intake.

i don't know if the mod will give you substantial HP gain in relation to the price you paid for a TB (HP/$$$ ratio) but i didn't see anyone did the mod saying the intake was bored... mayby they did and never mentioned it.

again with the previous TB size assumption you can do better with a bored intake but again... what about the HP/$$ ratio??

pesonally i will take a look at the bore of my TB and intake to see if they are the same size... as far as i remeber, the are the same bore. this is on the 1.5 SOHC.

They are pretty close to the same size.

In order to do this mod you'd have to not only bore out the Intake Manifold but you'd also have to have a new TB gasket made.

so we can't just buy one from the dealer or anything? i was wondering the same thing. when i read this a couple of days ago.

I'm not sure if the 2.0TB gasket will work or not being that the Intake Manifold is different. I'll try it out.

I also noticed that there's a listing for a different TB for the 2.2 manual and 2.2 Auto. Does anything know what the difference is?

It's not necessary to buy a TB gasket. You only need to make bigger two of the four bolts holes since the Nubira bolts are size 10 and the ones for Lanos are 12. Also you don't need to bore out the intake manilfold.

I'm a Daewoo mechanic and know where to find them.

We were talking about if you wanted to get the most out of it you're need to port match the TB and Intake Manifold to get all of it's potential. And yes the gasket for the Lanos TB would be too small. I'd have to see a gasket for the 2.0 or 2.2 TB to see how much they match up. I will try this in a few weeks.

i think you are right Shaun about the gasket thing... if the 2.0 TB got bigger bore then the port on the gasket is bigger too... no doubts about it.

using the 1.6 TB gasket on a 2.0 TB will make ristriction but again if you didn't bore your intake for this mod then you can still use the 1.6 TB gasket.

i have a bbtb from dve that i bought from blinkme why dont you just buy one from them it works pretty good alot better throttle response and dve said that you gain about 6% to 8% hp

cuz we can get a 'BBTB' from a leganza for about $35-$50 instead of $275 from DVE. If what intimidator says is true the 2.0 is a 58mm and the 2.2 is a 64mm.

I'm going to the Auto Recyclers to see if I can find a Leganza 2.2 TB, hopefully, it will be a cheap mod with good results.

This really pisses me off because last year I posted a question on the Daewootech.net Yahoo forum and everyone said no. My step mom had a Leganza and I was going to use her TB on my woo but the users on DTN Yahoo said it wouldn't fit. Now the leggy is gone and I can't use that sweet TB. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or maybe they were right to begin with and it doesn't fit. SOMEONE PLEASE CONFIRM THIS!
