Yup!
Now you see why I am so paranoid about deer!

I have hit 4 so far, one of which totaled one of my cars and the engine was destroyed. 2 more caused more than $3,000 of damage and the most recent, luckily was only a broken headlight, paint damage and a dented passanger door.

This is why I want REALLY REALLY bright lights and an active audio transmitting deer avoidance system. Those stick-on plastic deer whistles are totally useless and do NOTHING. There have been many tests with those little plastic whistles and they are proven to be 100% useless. Don't waste your money.

The Hornet Active Deer Avoidance System is the only one on the market that actually works.

I think this is going to be one of my next purchases in the very near future.

Those aspects of the North suck. I have to contend with armadillos, racoons, and squirrels but rarely. I see deer crossing signs every once in a while but I have never seen one or heard about a crash in my area because of one.

And if that deer avoidance system doesn't work, you can always have an aware passenger ride "shotgun" the way it was in the Old West.

Tsk, tsk....boys...

A guy I went to high school with was a passenger in a car that hit, I think, an elk. His buddy was completely knocked out cold and he could not get out of the car because the damage pinned him in. He said he came to and there was just blood all over the place. He started hollering hoping that someone might be nearby. Fortunately some people did happen to be out along that road and called the EMTs out with the jaws of life.

like a week or 2 ago a richland township girl got killed by not an animal but a flying tire and wheel...

A wheel fell off a jeep and hopped up thru her windshield and crushed her skull, she was dead on impact.

On my way home from work today, I narrowly avoided 2 deer in one place and another one about 2 miles farther along.

I had to leave black marks on the road where I locked the wheels up trying to stop in time.

My Lanos & my Porsche are the only 2 cars I *REALLY* don't want to hit a deer with. The others, well ... they can get fixed or totaled and I wont be too upset.

:x

This is a long post so I reply to each one on his own:

Acing Team: glad to see you made it out of that accident... the pics of the deer's guts are so grouse though.

BosnianLanos: we have no animals on our streets... usually we run over pedestrians.

KnightWalace: i don't know what to tell you man?? This could be really dangerous... What if you were in that suit and a mail deer spotted you and decided that he wants to get laid... HUH? Or worse of all what if you missed the girls' car and got hit by OZ?

TheGreatAndPowerfulOz: i think you wish you had that ABS on your Woo... watch out for them deers on the road from now on, one of them might be KnightWalace.
