I finally got a Service Manual for a 1999 Lanos off of Ebay. It has info on Instrument Panel Removal (duh) and shows where all the little bastard screws were hiding, also, it doesn't mention that the airbag needs to be removed, just disconnected or something.
I hope during spring break I can take the bastard out, as with my blower gone, the inside of my car has so much air leakage that I feel that I have the A/C on. In a few short weeks, everything from behind my dash will be out.
Anyone need a working blower and heater housing (core broken)?
Cheap?

well i got out the black lining that goes around the gauges and holds three of the 4 vents, and I still got this annoying rattle comming from where my vin number is and over by the defrost ports on the passenger side. I am going to remove the entire dash this weekend to see if I can hone in on the problem. I also took out the enitre center console for a good and well over due cleaning. I will take some pictures and post them up.

good luck dude... i finally got the ass hole out... that thing had more connections than AT&T... but.. to you i give my best wishes... enjoy... your going to need.... Flathead, Phillips... and an offset phillips... one that you can apply torque and it be about 1/2 inch for clearance
hope this helps...
You have to disconnect your airbag... pop the side tabs on the extreme sides... pull the weather stripping (black rubber thing) out a lil from the dash... and just start ripping screws out...
Again good luck

Well I got another 4 screws out now I have a total of 23 screws removed, I think I just have the airbag left. The only reason I am persisting on this is because I want to take some small blue lights and put a little puncture whole in the air ducts and then at night the air vents will shine blue throught the vents, which I think would look really off the hook.

According to the Service Manual, there are 6 nuts/bolts holding in the SRS Airbag.
If you take out your glovebox and look directly in the orfice it came out of, you will see the main mounting brackets it has 2 large I believe 12mm bolts holding the brackets to the safety bar, and above them are 2 12mm nuts that hold the the airbag to the bracket, remove those and then to either side of the Airbag are 2 bolts on each side holding it in sideways, as far as I know, I found them, and they are the Star- Type bolts requiring a special bit to remove. I don't know the size.
I just spent about an hour trying remove the airbag only to find that I don't have the right sized bit to remove the side bolts. It was also like 80 degrees with 95% humidity so I almost died. I might try again tomorrow.
