Need help finding VERY BRIGHT driving lights

Post by TheGreatAndPowerfulOz »

I live in the country where the back roads are VERY dark and there are a LOT of deer.
More light at night will help avoid them.

I bought a pair of 55watt H3 halogen driving lights, and they do not even seem to be as bright as my Sylvania Silverstar headlights. DOOH!

Can anyone suggest a set of VERY bright driving lights?
Even if they are not legal for street use.

I plan to set the lights up with a relay connected to my high beams, and also a switch so they can be turned off, even while the high beams are in use.

Thanks!!

I'll be adding a line of driving / fog lamps to the website in a few days, there will actually be quite a few to choose from ;)

i upgraded my headlights lamps with some 260/200 Watts and the relay... made a huge difference

i also found some 260/260 watts but i thought they would be too much (yeah right)... i don't know about you guys but i think those are not street legal in most countries.

Agreed. Vic can show ya a few sites about HIDs and who sell them.

Also HIDs are safer than high powered lights.

I don't want to convert my headlights to HIDs.

Because of the deer where I live, it is a lot less expensive to replace a stock headlight bucket when it gets smashed.

Converting to HIDs costs a few hundred dollars, which would be wasted with the next deer that jumps in front of the car.

Seperate high power driving lights are less expensive and easier to replace.

Since 1993, I have hit 4 deer, and there are a lot more out there to hit.
Too bad I can't make a heavy duty steel deer guard on the front of my car! LOL
