psi for aftermarket wheels/tires

If you switch the tire size what psi should you fill to. The Leganza manual says 29psi for the stock stuff. Do I keep it the same for 18" tires. I just want even tred ware.

It doesnt matter if its a bigger tire. Cuz psi is pounds per squar in so if its 30 psi in a 15inch tire or 18inch its still the same.

Anyways, it should just say on the sidewall of the tire. My guess is its alot more than 29, my tires say 44psi

it should tell you the max psi on the tire-wall. i usually keep it a few psi under that. i'm not sure if its good or not but i know over inflated tires are as bad as under-flated tires.

rim\tire size doesn't affect what pressure to use, use the same as stock.

the pressure marked on the tire is the MAX pressure the tire can safely handle you should not exceed that at any point of time.

if you put more pressure than the car manufactures sepacified into the tire it will make the ride more stiff, OK that might be good for stock wheels and tires setup but i think with big rims and really low profile tires on them the ride is already stiff... don't you agree??

anyways if the ride quality is good for your likings... keep it that way but remember, over inflation causes accelerated wear to the center part of the tire (under inflation causes accelerated wear to the sides).

stock lanos 13's is 34 i think...now i have my 17s, they said dont put more than 27psi in...

Every car I've ever had (and that is quite a lot!), I use 30 to 32 psi because that is where I have seen the least amount of treat wear.

I put over 40 in mine (max 44) and i havnt had any problems with wear.. and i dont think the rides very stiff either, i also lowered my car 1.2 inches and smaller profile tires

On 17" I was using 32/32 psi. Then for drag racing, the front I would lower down to about 22-24psi, to help with the traction.

the lanos comes stock witjh one of two tire/rim setups:

1) 13" rims with 175/70/13 tires ----> 32psi front and rear
2) 14" rims with 185/60/14 tires ----> 32psi front and rear
