hello everybody
just came across this site and found some good info
i have a yellow 5 door aveo and plan on doin a few things to it

airbags
rims
custom paint

got the car so cheap wife said i can go crazy on it if i want

lol welcome and goodluck.

Luckily the aveo and Lanos engines are almost identicle... so with chevy pushing into the sport compact world and the lanos and other daewoo's coming back rebagded for 2-3 companies... there should be some support... especially with tom (360dynamics) pushing hard for it.

I really like the Aveo 5 door ... almost makes me wish I had one instead of my Lanos ... but I LOVE my Lanos!! (I really like my Leganza, too).

Don't forget to get "Before" and "After" pictures, and keep a photo record of everything as you get each step done.

It's really nice to have a record of all the hard work, love, time & effort you have put into your car.

If you haven't yet done so, go to the General section and read the Sticky post at the top for all the new people that join the site; there's lots of good information in there!

It's great to have you here, and if you know anyone else with a car like yours, invite them to join the site; we'd be happy to have them.

I still agree 100% with that statement.

Take pics of your work as you go through each stage.

Besides, everyone in here likes to see pics of the other member's cars.

i guess i should say i cant take this car to serious. its not really my type inthe past i have built up
76 monte carlo
86 cutlass supreme
played with a 02 cavalier z24 sedan
curently driving
03 trailblazer
04 aveo

perfomance wise im not going for much here just wanna do a few things to make it look better. originally bought the car to save gas and not drive the trailblazer everyday.

looks like it gonna be fun to mess with though
things i would like to do are

airbag setup
rims
custom paint
small (maybe 8in subs) system
and if i find out the 1.6 can handle it a small shot of NOS just for giggles.

i might think about autocrossing with it. i know i wont be breaking and speed records but it will be fun. kinda like fat chicks and mopeds

oh and if a supercharger did come available then i wuld think about that as well. but i waited and waited fot that to happen wioth the cavalier and was let down in the end. they didnt make one for the auto and as far as i know didnt sale many for the 5 speed

with autocross though any car can win.. the car before me in my bracket was a Dodge viper... There were the same two cars, one with about 5-7k in HP mods and the other with about 2k in handling.. the handling one always got the bettter times. (both drivers were good drivers)
