Rev limiter
I know what it does (alot of people had them in the autocross... and alot of people hit them often) it seams they would help a TON in autocross (solo2) since you dont reach high speeds. Alot of the time you need to stay in the top of gear one but you dont have a chance to look at your RPMs and i cant listen for it with all that going on at once so i think a rev limiter would help tons.
Anyways.. how do they work? where do they hook up? and can they be universal?
thanks guys,
Dan

this is a long debated issue... first off the higher you go in the RPM past the stock rev limiter you lose power and torque (check any dyno chart)
second... at higher than stock RPM you have much more tendancy to damage the engine, to do that safely you need to upgrade your valves' springs with stronger ones and the cam shaft bearings to handle the extra force of the springs and maybe the cam shaft as a whole too to overcome the free float of valves at such hight rpm.
still you won't pull more HP... actually you will be spending money to reach an RPM point where you lose more power
it is better to spend the money to add up more HP and torque under the current rev band you have.

it would only make sense to do this really if you added FI.... and if you tuned your ecu and parts to respect a 3500-7k or 8k power range... you take it past 6250 and you will lose power like mmamdouh said.
