Strut bar

Post by kinkyllama »

Do you just bolt it on basicly? or do you have to aligned (is that spelled right?) it or something?

How the hell do you put the rear one on and where?

well i'm not sure what it all takes to put one on i dont think you would have to align it but i might be wrong. as for where the rear one goes in the lanos hatchbacks in the trunk there are two little compartments. when you open them you'll see like a big rubber niple looking thing. take that off and those are the top of the struts for the rear.

All you do is take out the three bolts on each side and bolt it in. I'll post a pic of mine in the gallery.

well when you get it back you should still be able to see what i'm talking about. i'm pretty sure even in sedans they have the same thing since in case something goes wrong the dealership has easy access to it.

Yeah, sedans have the same type of strut accesible from the trunk. It's under a plastic latch like thing, Like the one we have on our drivers fuse panel.

I read either here or somewhere else that theoretically strut bars work great, but for you guys who own the bars, what was the main, if any difference you noticed?

I want to know if I should spend the time and money building front and rear bars in my friends workshop.

I know it's a different beast but when I added F & R bars to my car I noticed that it helped to keep the car more planted, and helped out a bit w/ rigidity.
