I know the difference. But how do they act differently when installed on your car?

Strut bars keep the the tops of the struts from leaning and the whole suspension assembly from leaning at an angle which can make the wheels not grip as well as they should.

Sway bars keep the suspension from traveling up & down too far and too fast.

you got it wrong bro... the strut bar will PREVENT the tops of the struts from leaning.

if the tops of the struts did lean, it will cause the tires not to grip.

in other words: Strut bars----> no strut leaning ----> better grip.

i read it just fine... leaning causes angles... causes no grip
Strut bars keep the the tops of the struts from leaning and the whole suspension assembly from leaning at an angle, which LEANING AT AN ANGLE can make the wheels not grip as well as they should
this is a little more user friendly :D

Read OZ's sentence one more time... carefully this time. He's saying that it would prevent the angles so your tires would have more grip.

Faster the better. I plan on doing more than drag racing but im having a hard time getting pointed in the right direction.

I understood the way you said it acingteam but still dont understand the first one. Im dyslexic so sometimes it doesnt matter how many times i read over something i still comprehend it the wrong way.

What do sway bars actually bolt onto?

an anti sway bar is a very wide U shaped bar connected from its ends to both control arms of the suspension and in the middle to the body of the car.

so when you make a left turn the left control arm goes down in respect to the body of the car and the right control arm goes up and cause the body of the car to lean to the right.

in this case the sway bar is tilted - acts as a torshen bar - and it resists both control arms and tries to keep them level and accorningly reduce the "leaning" of the car body.

the thicker the bar the more it forces the control arms to be level and stablizes the car even more.
