My new wheels! (PICS)
I picked up the new wheels for my Lanos today.
The shop forgot to call me to tell me they came in last week because they said they were busy with the holidays. grrr
Anyway, here they are!!
The wheel:
The valve stem
And the Daewoo valve stem caps:
Now I just need to get the money together to get the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 195/50/15 tires with the tread that looks like a V tread.

They were on sale for only $54 each!
I'm going to try to make custom Daewoo center caps made for them, too.
I'll use one of the orrigional center caps, fill in the stamped lettering with a non-shrinking modeling compound called Sculpty, and make a new Euro Deawoo logo on the center of the cap.
After I have a finished cap, I will take it to a guy I know that does professional brass casting and have him cast 4 of the new center caps out of the one I made as a model. The new brass caps will then be chrome plated and installed.

I wanted to go bigger than the stock 14" but also keep the price down for new replacement tires when it is time to change them. I really didn't feel like spending more on the tires than I did on the wheels because I am a cheap, money tight SOB.
LOL

Have you looked into the hub centric rings yet? I just put the 16X7 version of these on my 2001 Lanos hatchback.
http://www.sears.com/sr/automotive/whee ... tical=AUTO
It looks great, but drives like crap because of the vibration. I think I need a set of something like this, but don't know the hub diameter.

Anybody know?
By the way, rims from Sears are a very good price also. I paid $74.99 each for 16X7's

New rims finally installed
After waiting around for two weeks waiting on Sears to send me some non existant hub rings, I got the wheels mounted. Turns out with lug bolts you don't need the hub centric rings as there is no way they can't go on straight. Anyhow, got tires from Tires Plus, Yokohama Avid H4 205/40 16's and Tires Plus offers 90 days same as cash which helps.
