can someone give me the "symptoms" of a blown head gasket.

There are two, that are very much obvious:
- coolant in the oil (there is usually light sticky residue on the bottom of the oil cap)
- oil in the coolant - just look in the overflow tank and if you see a layer of oil floating on top of the coolant, its blown
- also, white smoke coming from the exhaust. This is somewhat difficutl to test when its cold outside, as the exhaust gases are steam-like too.

try coolant in your cyllander also, lol

my car has most likley a blow head gasket, i got coolant leaking like a bitch into my number 4 cyllander causing my car to perioudicly run on 3 cyllanders
also some other symptoms i got were the smoke, coolant in my oil causing a ugly sticky milk substance, oil in my coolant, possible exhaust gassed in my coolant lines, etc...

im taking my engine apart as we speak, ill try to keep updates on here as well as .net

in my case of a blown headgasket...

Coolant was spewed all over my engine bay.
