Anyone on here taken out the stock air box and just put a K&N cone onto the stock tube? Did it make any improvement?

Our air boxs suck! its gotta be more than just 1hp with replacing it with a simple cone.

Why stop there.... just buy a CAI from 360Dynamics....here are the dyno numbers...( and yes... it was tested on my car.... and no I don't own any part of 360 Dynamics)

LOL if it was my car it would have a full CAI, however as it is the G/Fs car and she is super paranoid about warranty crap (first NEW car) I can only put a cone on :(

I don't know what Tom (360Dynamics) had in mind for a time frame but most of the pieces are ready for welding.

I think the main snag is the 90 degree bend coming off the throttle body.... it's turning out to be hard to find a decently priced silicon 90 that fits.

He's tried a couple of ideas so far but most are too close to the hood.... it's too bad our throttle bodies aren't sideways.... it would make things so much easier.

He has one setup that works great but the 90 is this plain black rubber piece that doesn't look very good.

Hopefully he will find the parts he requires soon, and I will be sure to keep updating as we fool around with my car.

I wish I lived in Arizona so that I could go to the drags in the middle of winter.

It's about 0 degrees F here and there is snow and ice everywhere.... the only drag racing I'm going to see is on TV

It gets dark now at like 4:00pm and the sun doesn't rise until around 9am.

Soon it will be pitch black when I go to work and pitch black when I come home.

Well.... I guess I can't complain too much .... our summer light kicks ass.... sun rises at lik 4am and doesn't go down until nearly 11:00pm

We also get decent summer weather considering how far north we are.... summer temps can get into the 90s sometimes but very rarely get into the 100s. (thankfully)

I love the summer days when it's about 85-90 degrees during the day and cools off to about 60 at night.

Oh well......... sucks to be me right?

gives me plenty of time to mess with stuff

also this has been a really mild winter so far, we had one snow storm and it lasted 1 day and the snow was gone the next. i think its going to get back though, its like 5' f out right now and the clouds are moving in  but i love it!!

Florida rules in winter but sucks in summer. Any major car work is done only from like November to March. Last July I tried to put some speakers in the Daewoo. It was 94F outside with humidity being 100% so it felt well over 105F, I was working in the trunk, which had to be at least 120F, in a little under two hours I dehydrated and started seeing double, so... I stopped. I can just imagine what it feels like to the kids whose parents forget them in the car when they go to work and the car gets to 130F.

But now its the best. Low 70s, dawn at 7am dusk at 7pm, no humidity. I can work on cars, go swimming, walk around, without dying.

Still miss the snow though. Don't ever move to Florida!

:D Do you want some???

Just let me know and I will pack a coleman cooler with snow for you and send it down

Yes folks you read it right... pure Canadian snow in a cooler for just $49.99 + shipping!!

Get yours now while supplies last

( I can give you a discount if you don't mind if it has some dog pee in it )

I wonder if they would charge duty on snow.... hmmmm... I'm sure the customs guys probably don't have a NAFTA classification for snow.
