could it be the wheel alignment? or uneven wear on the tires. What speeds does this start at? Did you hit a really big bump or something?

Do you mean shaking and shuddering as when driving, or the engine is hasitating?

There are a few simple items that can be checked before anything else:

If you havent done a tune-up lately this is the basic list:
- spark plugs
- have mechanic test the spark plug wires
- replace fuel filter
- check vacuum lines for cracks
- check the CTS sensor (Coolant Temp Sensor)

Other than that, it may be getting a little bit more complex:
- oxygen sensor, if never replaced (computer depends heavily on that)
- idle-air control valve...to be cleanup
- air temp sensor

Also, your mechanic should pull the codes off the ECM - if there is a problem, the comp will let you know.

Hope this helps

Tom

my 98 leganza shudderd a bit then not long after blew a crank bearing. I dont know if the bearing was why it was shaking, but it ended up being a $1300 excersize
