i want to add some sport look and better ventilation for my coming turbo setup, but i want to keep the OEM look as possible as i can, so what do you think if i add a legacy hood scoop:
and install a lanos II front bumper with one of below modifications (sorry for my poor photoshop experience, but i tried to make the idea as close as i can), i will use led fog light as you see:
or
if you have any ideas or comments on my thoughts please let me know, thanks in advance...
what do you think about these ...

you would be better off with a reverse scoop if you want it for ventilation
like this:
and the bumper looks much better un-modified

Re: what do you think about these ...
check this post from subaru forum http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gd-exterior ... not-5.html they finally found that reverse scoop is useless:
Quote:
peoples intake temps have risen due to a reverse scoop it doesn't do anything and actually hinders temps.

i will have to modify my bumper so i can have a space for the intercooler!

dang! this car is hot!benzino wrote: and the bumper looks much better un-modified
I agree about the un modified Lanos Sport bumper looking the best. the standard Lanos bumper looks pretty goo too with just a lip/shin spoiler.
as for the scoop/vent issue. we would want to take our ques from the EVO not the STi. the STi may as well be an air-cooled super beetle motor. horizontally opposed engines tend to get hot anyway. the Mivec 4g63 is at least a cast iron in-line 4 (was anyways).
A scoop only helps if you have a reason or a place for the air to go, i.e. top mount intercooler.
same is true though about a vent. unless you have a means of pushing air across the engine and out the vent then no cooling is actually taking place.
all in all, it's just for looks in majority of cars. that being said, relate it to the big ugly wings people insist putting on their cars. they don't help, they do more harm than good and anyone serious about cars wont take you serious if you have them.
Re: what do you think about these ...
so you don't recommend me going with both bumper and hood modifications?
even i will have to modify the bumper to free some space for the intercooler!

Re: what do you think about these ...
not very much tho. you will just have to take away a little of the lower grill area. there is a lot of room under the bumper.
how tall of an intercooler are you planning on using?

Re: what do you think about these ...
not so big at the moment as a start, for now it's a mercedes compressor intercooler, check it's photo in my cardomain ride page 2
Re: what do you think about these ...
yeah that should be fine, they are tiny
if you look at mr.g's cardomain, you will see he fit quite a big fish behind the lanos sport bumper
Garrett: Indeed it is a very nice car... something about 5 door plus sport bodykit slammed on small diameter jap wheels just WORKS! lol
