check for spark and fuel... if you don't have any then your crank position sensor is bad
check the timing belt... if it is broke it will never start... and you have bent your valves as well

Re: 01 Lanos cranks but wont turn over
I think I remember a topic on this where many cars had problems with the clogged air conditioner drain, causing wet passenger side carpet, which causes a corroded wire in block to computer under passenger seat. I know the tpic addressed the color of the wire and the exact location. I believe the wire that goes bad is the one to the fuel pump. If you search i am sure you can find it. if not, check to see if you have fuel pressure when you are cranking. No fuel= no start!

Is true.
I got myself a Lanos with this, and quickly fixed it, and bargain car.!!
Usually affects the 5 volt supply to the sensors.
Best way is to check there is 5 volts at the throttle position sensor, this gives a good indication.
5 volt should be there when the "Reds" are on, but you don't have to start it up.
Take out Right hand seat, and look under the cover under the seat. Check all connections there.

The timing belt was broke but I took the head off and checked the valves but none were bent thank god, but I am still having a problem with the check engine ligh blinking at high speeds, i got it checked and it said a random missfire and the IAC valve, does anyone know what else could be the problem?

Cam position sensor? Ours had the same random misfire code. The CEL stayed on though, I never actually felt any misfire?
But when the sensors was replaced that fixed the CEL. But we still see the CEL now and again it seems to vary with the gas quality, we usually use 89.
You could use a dvom on the cam sensor to see if the sensor is in spec.

I've replaced the cam position sensor and I still have the misfire problem I've tested the coil pack and it seems to be fine and I've replaced the plugs and wires and still get the misfire code

did you check to see if you are getting fuel?
