if you look at the previous few pictures, you can kind of see what brackets need cutting, extending, bending, etc. on the scooby seats, 3 mounting points are flat, and very close to the daewoo ones, but one mounting point is verticale (the corner where the seat belt clip is) all that had to be done was to bend it 90 degrees to make it flat and level with the other 3 points.benzino wrote:sick!!!
so what mods did you need to do?
I'm very interested in this hahaha

as an additional sidenote, my car's now reached just under 50,000 miles - had the cambelt and waterpump replaced yesterday... so its good for another 50,000 miles

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
Light update:
Ive changed the injectors for ones from a Lacetti 1.8 16V. All works perfectly, starts easier and pulls harder in the higher revs.
got an oil leak though, cross-threaded the sump drain bolt but its not too severe

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
been a while since I last updated this thread, here's what's been going on... (havn't got any new pictures yet, im afraid)
painted the innards of the headlights satin black
got black-smoked side repeaters to go on whenever i get round to it
got some different wheels (just waiting for tyres to go on - 205/40/17 sound about right?) model name: BK Racing BK238; painted them black too.
the inside is almost completely stripped
i'm in need of finding a way to lower the car "again" as it's raised back up what-with everything i've taken out of it. gonna see at some point if i can get astra F 60mm springs to work - i know the rears are a definite fit, which is good, but the front needs to be a bit lower too.
pictures coming soon

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
where did you get the new splitter from?
Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
that came off a Renault Laguna. There are several different ones, the one i have - about 3 inches high with the vents/ducts at each corner, theres another the same size with the vents/ducts and then one other thats about half the height without the vent holes. Theres a similar one that come from a Renault Espace thats about 4 inches high, but are a bit harder to come by.gse_turbo wrote:where did you get the new splitter from?

not much of an update, but I replaced my sump today, just for shits n giggles, like! HAHA!
...no, it was leaking from the old turbo's oil return and the plug bolt that was cross-threaded.

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
the car needs to be lowered, and maybe perhaps... better rims?
Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
The amount of times i've heard that lol... it has been lowered 40mm, it's just raised back up where ive stripped it out and changed parts for lighter items etc etc.buddha102 wrote:the car needs to be lowered, and maybe perhaps... better rims?
and as for the wheels, ive taken them off, cos they made it too slow for my liking - they weighed a lot!!

what suspension did you use?
i'm looking at this, it looks like an alright budget kit

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
SPAX SSX springs.
good luck with fitting that apex kit, thats all im gonna say. and that much for only 30mm? but then i suppose the uprated dampers will help a lot... if u get it fitted.
a lot of people say the astra mk2 suspension is a straight swap with the lanos, but i found out first hand that it isnt. so do what u like dude.

Re: rodd1s' ex-turbo Lanos [1349 sleeper in the making]
well i was just under the assumption it was a straight swap (the koni dampers have the same part # as the mk2)
come on man, you can't give me that tiny morsal and expect me to be satisfied, I need more!! apex bad? unable to get fitted? what's your first hand experience?!
i was looking at the spax but they seemed to be oil filled rather than gas
just remember also that budget is under 300GBP because i then need to tack on another 100GBP for postage
