Anyone swap a 1.8 ecotec into a aveo?
Just wanting a different motor and im liking the 1.8 ecotec found in the Saturn astra. So I need the engine tranny and ecu and harness? Would that be it? Anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't think it's compatable. Look at a 2.0 engine from a Nubira... should be an easier swap.

Well according to this chart it will fit http://www.aveoforum.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... =enlisting the 1.8 makes 138hp and the old Nubira 2.0 makes 129. I want the 1.8 unless the chart is a lie.

Quoting a chart from a forum is not "proof" of fitment, having said that you should theoretically be able to drop in the 1.8 Saturn engine.
Yes it makes more power and torque, but only because the engine management is set that way.
The C20XE ( older 2.0L 16V ) made 150hp out of the box.
I would have to say there are some pretty good deals on 1.8L engines right now.... personally I'd option for the 2.0L because the aftermarket is so much larger for that engine if you ever decide to do a performance based rebuild of the engine ( forged components, high compression pistons )
You should definitly get a number of good pictures ( ebay.com is a good source ) and compare them to your engine bay just to see where things line up.
If this engine is going into an aveo it shouldn't be too hard, if it's going into a Lanos then there is a big headache with respect to the primary engine mount position.

Um how am I going to find that engine in the states? If im going to some how get a engine from europe into the states it would be the c20let. What you said was pointless.

He's talking bout the 2.0 nubira engine... Way to get angry for no reason.

what he was pointing out was the 2.0L "Daewoo" engines in the US are really detuned versions of the c20xemaster_daewoo wrote:Um how am I going to find that engine in the states? If im going to some how get a engine from europe into the states it would be the c20let. What you said was pointless.

You are a fucking retard... plain and simple... now I have zero interest in helping you.master_daewoo wrote:Um how am I going to find that engine in the states? If im going to some how get a engine from europe into the states it would be the c20let. What you said was pointless.
The 2.0L can make significantly more power than the 1.8L and the aftermarket is huge as there are easily a hundred sites with performance parts for the 2.0L engine.
Do you even realize that 90% of the reliable technical stuff on Aveoforums came from posts from me and Daewootech?
Aveosam pulled over most of my posts to the new site without my permission ( which means my name does not appear on most of the old technical posts )

i wouldn't waste your breath on these jokers... I think we scared them off anyway. Lol.
We're lucky the forum is this good anyway. Every other forum i've been on is infuriatingly shit. Just so many stupid questions.
