daewoo lanos fuel filter replacement

The side on the passenger was easy to remove, but the side on the driverside makes it impossible to get a fuel line disconnect tool in there. I read that you have to use a special tool to get it undone, but that doesn't work seeing as the black plastic piece is broken on that side. If the black plastic piece is broken, what is used to get it off?

this is very annoying to get off... lol

i used a window winder removal tool to get mine off... and the clip broke, but it came off. The broken clip is still holding and it seems no integrity is lost.
