Aveo clutch help
My clutch is on its way out at 82k miles and want a better than stock and cant find one. From what I understand is kinky lama sells some but his website goes to porn and daft art had a few clutches but that website goes to real estate. So are these suppliers not around any more? Point me in the right direction for a better clutch please.

Re: Aveo clutch help
sorry I can't help Master Daewoo.... wish I could. I don't know what I am doing. However, i have found that the people here are VERY helpful and do try to help whoever asks. I think many of the real pros are busy with lots of other stuff and do not get on this board every day, or even every week so it may take a little while for them to respond. when they do they provide in depth help, frequently with pictures. for many of the Daewoo issues they already have them addressed in the FAQ section. I assume you already searched the site and didn't find the topic you asked about? I am sure a couple of these guys have your answer, as soon as they see your request. hang in there. Good luck

Why don't you quit whining and look around the site, there is a long list of suppliers.
Or better yet.... spend the half hour to figure out which of the other dozen or so cars share the same transmission/clutch and start there.
I could just tell you.... but at this point I don't feel inclined to help you due to your general attitude.

Re: Aveo clutch help
Ya the two suppliers websites dont work anymore and are gone. Xiagory Had a clutch for a limited time but are now gone an I have spent hours seeing what cars share the same clutch/ spline count. The clutch disk in the aveo is similar to the 1980-1983 audi 5000 2.2 non turbo and the audi 4000 2.2 non turbo and the Porsche 924 and the 914. And spec clutch makes a performance clutch for the audi 4000/5000 but I dunno is the pressure plate would work with it. I would want a stronger pressure plate as well if possible. So I have searched thank you for thinking I haven't tried because I have. If you have some magical clutch I would love to hear about it.

Re: Aveo clutch help
Chevrolet Aveo = Daewoo = Opel = Vauxhall = Holden = fourty or so cars with the same basic engine/gearbox
I'm sorry if I'm just dumfounded by your question... it's like asking for a clutch to fit a Honda Civic
There are probably quite litterally well over a million D16 gearboxes just like your Aveo out in the world.... there are dozens of manufactures in the USA alone that make a clutch for your car.
Personally.... you'd be best off starting with Sachs as they have a long standing history of making Opel clutches and there are probably several thousand companies in the USA that are selling them.
Honestly.... I'm confused at how you can not find a clutch.... normally I'm not beating on people but I put "Aveo Clutch" into Yahoo and like the second hit is a decent Sachs clutch kit for $150.17
This is slightly uprated from your stock GM clutch..... unless your pushing 200hp or more this sachs clutch will work just fine.... it will even be fine up slightly past that.... speaking from experience

Re: Aveo clutch help
I had no problem looking for a stock clutch I found many of those. I was just looking for a stronger than oem clutch. So the saches is stronger than oem. Thats all I needed to know I thought it was a oem replacement. Thankyou

Re: Aveo clutch help
hey gse_turbo,
what exactly is it that you carry? how does it compare to the stock equipment?
my clutch is still working fine for now, but once i'm done with wheels, suspension, brakes.. I'd like to put in a good clutch. I've had a hard time finding some good info about performance parts for this car, but have found a few forums with damn helpful members like petrified.rabbit, precision, etc and am thankful for that.
What can you tell me about your clutch kit?
