Engine clean up

Post by Ninja »

Hi, I was wondering if someone knows how safe is to "wash" the engine of my 200 Lanos hatchback. I accidentally spill a lot of engine oil on it. So it is safe to use like degreaser everywhere and wash it?

Thx guys.

you can use either engine degreaser product (expensive and not that much effective) or go the old way...

use a mix of water and dish washing soap and scrub the oil residues... at my mechanic shop i put this mix into the container of the spray panting tool and "spray" the whole engine with the cleaning mix... after that i give it another spray with water only to remove the soap then blast the engine with air to remove all water

don't do this on a hot engine
