Yes, the new model is already launched in Korea Powered by the 116 hp 1.6 DOHC motor (same as Aveo??) will get either 5spd manual or 6spd auto.
Other engine options include 140hp 1.8 DOHC VVT (same as Astra??) as well as 2.0 TCDi diesel as an option, making 150hp and 235lb-ft of torque
(I guess not for the US market) .
The car will make it to the north america by 2011 as Chevrolet Cruze.
That is totally wierd..... I was at GSiTurbo's place a few hours ago and he brought up this very post at his place..... and all the pictures showed up just fine.
2010 BMW 335D
1994 Opel Calibra 4X4 turbo ( C20LET 2.0L Turbo )
2002 Daewoo lanos
since we have very harsh cutoms rates on cars that is based on engine size... the cruze came here with a 1.6... just like the 2009 civic... i recon Egypt is the only country were you can find a 1600 cc 2009 honda civic...
I've gotta say that I'm pretty pumped about the Cruze! ...it's getting close to the supposed 2011 availability. I've been bouncing around different sources not everyone is on the same page as far as what is going to be available for power and drive train. so far it looks like the 1.4 Turbo motor based on the twin port motor is the only choice and get this, a 6-speed manual gearbox is the word noe. If this comes to be then we will finally have what should be a great option for a gearbox in North America.
One thing that everyone is on the same page about is that it is set to be built here in Ohio at the plat that has been producing the Cobalt. ....SO, yes you can pretty much say that GM is happier with the Daewoo developed Cruze and are FINALLY putting an end to the Cobalt and replacing it along with the Aluminum Ecotec.
I have to say, also, I am really happy with what GM is doing with the Chevy brand. for the first time ever, this will be one of the chassis that is supposed have the same badging world wide. This is what GM should have started doing many years ago.
