Check also:

Fuel leak.
Coolant level.
Thermostat stuck open: low temp reading on dashboard, poor habitacle heating.
Air Intake temperature sensor resistance value.
Coolant temperature sensor "n" (the one's for ECU with dual wires) resistance value.

you prolly need to adjust your brake light switch, or replace it.

fixed the brake pedal, the check engine light is for misfire in cylinder one and no pre cat detected. i fixed that one today with a little mod. and now the check engine light isn't on, but when i drive it blinks. i am guessing it is still the misfire because it is only when the engine is actually moving the car that it comes on, i will get it scanned tomorrow. any ideas?

i think youre running a DOCH. cam snesor is in the middle top valve cover.
crank is at the way bottom where that big pully is, and you see those teeth on the backside, and the little thing on the left side about 3mm away from it. thats the crank sensor.
1 could be faulty sensors, like just need to be wiped off.
since its a misfire gotta check your boots and plugs. period. you should already know my boot jumping story, anyway, when you drive normal the CEL will just come on. when you push it hard (110mph) on the road, the CEL will flash telling you its constantly happening and that it might be really BAD. and usually when i get my 4th cyl misfire CEL on the freeway.. it wont stop flashing until i turn off the car.
so take ur cam sensor off, wipe it off, clean out the plugs
same with the crank sensor. wipe off the pully teeth.
pull the plugs from the valve cover and the wires, look for any lines across the gaps.
say this is a normal plug: Image
when it jumps, might look like: Image
the red and purple are jumping point, the brown can come from too much heat and such.

plugs and wires are both brand new.. got the code pulled again just a few minutes ago. p1404 GM code is EGR valve stuck open and p0301 which is misfire in cylinder 1
