I rock a "little" intercooler too
Not having to pressurise a huge intercooler helps for quick pressure building! You've just gotta make sure you get one that is highly efficient and well placed
Third set went in this week and the problems have hopefully now been storted.
Std top ring gap at .3mm was to small and has been doubled to .6mm
Actuator was not working and allowing over boost.
Have also added a 1.6mm deck plate now as well as the shortened rods to drop compression down even more to allow me to run at .7 in the future.
Keep fingers crosses that she starts up and runs this weekend.

Well, I havn't updated you guys on the Turbo Lanos in a while, but last week I picked up a slight miss at idle, so out came the plugs and I did a compression test, No 1 and 4 were 1200 whilst No 2 and 3 were around 1000.
I then replaced the plugs and started the motor and noticed a blue tinge to the exhaust smoke, I reved the car and thats when I saw the James Bond type smoke screen.
Looks like more bust pistons, SOOOOOO i bit the bullet and ordered a set of Wiseco's from IPP in the states. They were the only guys that had a listing for the 79.5mm 1.6XE pistons in low compression for the turbo.
Posted to me they cost nearly 5 times that of the std Woo pistons but at least this time I can run a (non lag inducing) 8.5-1 compression instead of the (sorta Woo piston friendly) 7.5-1 that I am currently running. ANd apparently they are bullet proof.
Biggest bummer is I have to wait over a month to get the pistons made and shipped from the US to South Africa.
Will drop in more news once the pistons have arrived.
