Intake Manifold 16v 1.6 can it be replaced?
I think the manifold for lanos is too damn big, any purpose of that?
Re: Intake Manifold 16v 1.6 can it be replaced?
that's because it has some valve system inside, so that at low rpm the intake runners/path is longer for more torque and at higher rpm the valves open to shorten the path for the air flow to increase top-end power.
if you replace the manifold with a plain one you have to choose whether you want the low end torque or top end power and have either a long or short manifold, or you could work out what's the best length to hav for your desired max bhp point in the rev range.
this topic has been covered before with some very in depth explanations as to how to calculate the perfect intake manifold for a naturally aspirated engine.

Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.

the intake mani has the VGIS system like rod was talking about. its a great design, i say leave it, changing it to a single set runner intake mani will cost you power
