picking up a turbo tomorow... its a KKK turbo off a pug 306 1.9 diesel.
here are some pics, will get some moe once i hav it:
i believe the internal wastegate is set to 12psi as standard, but it is adjustable apparently - i'll do some more research.

i think you will only need a boost control like this one rspec
this connects to the pipe going to the waste actualater (can't spell) this allow you to change the PSI

Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
yeah ive seen a few people using similar control valves with already turbo'd cars with good results. a while ago there were a few HKS (i think) ones on ebay for a similar price.Big Jeff wrote:i think you will only need a boost control like this one rspec

there are great those, my mate have them
Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
got the turbo... had it for a few days now, just never got round to taking pictures:
next item in the budget is a small intercooler - found several (leak free) under £30 on ebay.

Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
today i've ordered the oil sandwich adapter. once i know what size fittings it has im goin to get the oil lines etc.
also found a good condition Mazda RX7 intercooler on ebay... got that for £20 delivered. (pictures once ive received it) - its only a small intercooler, really small, but it'll be perfect for low boost, im sure.
still not too sure about how i'm going to mount the turbo to the manifold, need to find out how close the 3 bolt holes are first. anyone got a picture/diagram with measurements of the 8v engine's exhaust manifold?
otherwise i'll just weld it on there... joking..... actually, could that work?

Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
why don't you just remove the heat shield?
Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
got the intercooler today
ive also got the oil sandwich plate... waiting to get some connecters to see what size oil hoses i need.

that is a super super small intercooler. might as well put a fan on the piping. :P jk.
good luck on the matching up.

Re: rodd1s' Lanos [updates on first post]
good point that... it is a very small intercooler, but i especially wanted a realy small one because im only gonna be running low boost - and obviously big intercoolers dont help with the spool time to full pressure with small turbochargers.wolfsreign wrote:that is a super super small intercooler. might as well put a fan on the piping. :P jk.

i was actually surprised that such a small intercooler was used on the mazda rx7.
parts still to get:
-bigger injectors
-rising rate fuel pressure regulator
-charge piping 'bits' (mostly just the couplers and clamps)
-steel pipes/bends for the exhaust
-adapter plate (if the turbo isnt a close enough match for the manifold)
-oil feed/drain pipes
-gauges to keep an eye on things
-check valves for the map sensor
the list of things i have already are on the first post. anything i'm missing?

just ordered a FSE "Power Boost Valve" or more commonly known as an adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator.
need to go to the post office at some point today to pick up a few more things.
for those wondering when the work on this project is starting, ive got my last few exams nxt week, and then after that once ive got evrything i can start thinking about taking the car off the road for a week or two, as i wont realy be needing it - i'll just have to get someone to drive me to work for the time being.
