Search function on the site
Is the search function on the site pretty much useless for anybody else or am I having some kind of browser issue. Almost everything I try to search for, it tells me the term is too common. I trying to find threads on shocks and struts and the words shocks, struts, absorber, suspension, springs, etc. all give me that message. Even when I try to search in a specific area of the site, same thing. It's kind of making the site useless since I don't feel like manually going through every thread.

all that needs to be done is to change the search settings to the following
in search setting change "Common word threshold:" to 0 (zero)
then he nneds to re do the search index by diong the following
go to the Maintenance, selecting seach index, the detele the "Fulltext native (active) " index, then create "Fulltext native (active) " index
i have had to do this on my forum, now it works find

Re: Search function on the site
there is a search indexs database which logs all the words used on the site, if that word is used more than the set percentage it will mark it as a common word and won't allow it to be use in searches

Re: Search function on the site
It would certainly be nice if the search worked...... from what I gather he is too busy to even come on this site most of the time. I'll try to drop him a line on MSN.
