I have seen the light! (or not - depends which way u look at it)

that big 3.5" rumbling exhaust backbox is going going gone! i cant be doing with it anymore seeing as most of my driving is done on the motorway and it does my head in with the constant drone at 4000 rpm for 30 mins to an hour at a time - it also interrupts my music, the noise.

im either going to put the standard backbox back on or ive also got a subaru impreza 2" backbox at home, which is off a non-turbo model (so it's not as loud as those wrx spec things) but it might be a bit more free-flowing seeing as it came off a 2.0 16v lump. the exit tip on the scooby backbox has been cut before where a 3" polished tip was clamped on, but i'm thinking i'll just weld a new tip on there so it has the looks, but no loud noises.

the time has come... summer's on the way, another year at uni is almost done with and i'm gona have some extra cash soon.

i think it's turbo time.

turbochargers are 10 a penny at breakers yards and on ebay. not literally, but td04's are priced between £50 and £70 (delivery included).

i need some input as to what else to look out for, because my lanos has the 1349cc lump and a smaller turbo would obviously work better.

as far as doing the work goes, i'm gona be doing evrything myself - unless i get stuck with something major.

im not looking to run high boost so that the engine internals dont need changing. (4 to 7 psi depending on turbo's internal wastegate)

so, some input please guys... what do u think would be a good turbo for a 1300 lump? anyone want to guestimate final power output?

That splitter looks amazin rodd.

And Jeff those figures are in kW, converting 55kW to bhp is around 74/75, like rodd said.

Which means yours is about 105bhp Jeff :)
