Happy new year,

yes they are stronger, and you should be able to reuse them.

Used a straight edge and just put a bright light behind it. No light came through where the edge met the medal.

got a question, how do i remove camshaft bolt?? tried the starter method didnt work, just kept slipping, and i went out and bought a impact wrench, compressor doesnt run high enough to do any good. used almost a whole can of PB blaster on it to no avail.

hi to remove the camshaft wheel they have a cut out along the shaft near the bolt use to spanners and crack em off.... for the crankshaft pulley wich i think is the one your talking about myne was already removed when i bought the car but i have used a chain wrench in the past with a cloth around the pulley so as not to damage it set the wrench u around it and move it to a spot like sway bar arm or control arm make sure its strong where you lever it against and use a breaker bar wich is a long drive with long handle and a 17mm socket and crack it off so chain wrench and breaker bar if you dont have one borrow one or buy it up to you

got the valves, belt, water pump, gaskets, and tensioner today. valve locks will be here on friday. quick question. i pulled the valves out and realized the head was a little bigger then the ones on my old ones. now i dont know if this is because they are old. the silver ring around the valve head is the new valve compared to the old one.

make sure you are compareing intake valve to intake valve, adn exhaust valve to exhaust valve. if you are then you havethe incorrect valves, thats a hell of a difference!

the exhaust valves are always smaller than intake valves because it needs more air in than out ;)

hey sheep how is it going... howd you go getting the valve keepers i hope good and everything is panning out well for you so you have 8 of the smaller valves and 8 of the larger valves i hope and have lapped them with grinding paste and lap stick or drill and numbered where each valve has been lapped to and cleaned your block and head surface with some sandpaper and water or kerosine and wiped it all dry with metholated spirits! make sure you have marked wich camshafts and look ata book for camcap numbers and placings are wich not sure if theres a diff but i just left a wheel on one of them lol my car runs EXCELLENTIO im quiet impressed 1st kick of the starter after primin her a lil yay now a proud owner of a going daewoo nubie concentrate on your exhaust valves more when lapping (read it somewhere seems to have done me well) and make sure your keepers are locked in tight there should only be a gap on one side the other side should be mated flush cheers

well finally got the crank shaft bolt off and got the outer timing belt cover off. now i think i know why my engine is fucked. there is about a 5 inch strip of the belt with no teeth in it anymore. would explain everything. now i have another problem, how the hell do i get the pulley that is in the middle of the timing belt off. idk what it is called. think it might be a pump or something. dont know. its pissing me off though. can not get it off. and another thing. how do i get my valve seals off? i got a new set, and i can not get the old ones off.

the pully in the center is the power stearing pump. your gonna have to reinstall the serpantine belt to hold that pully in place to break the bolts loose.
