1.6 and 2.0 ECU?

Post by gse_turbo »

K I need to know if the lanos pin out is the same as the nubira. ...can the ECU be easily swapped?

I just bought a lanos and I'd like to swap a 2.0 into it and I need to know in the conputer can be a simple plug and play. ...would the 1.6 ECO handle the 2.0?

they are the same as long as you are on the same OBD for both engines

as far as i know the OBD II lanoses got 3 socket ECU whereas the ALDL lanoses got 2 socket ECU

we have swapped a 2.0 into a 1.6 nubira and we used the 1.6 ECU with no problems.

so from your experience, does the lanos and nubira have the same pin-out if I were to take the Emanage from the one and put it in the other?

thank you

So if the 1.6 DOHC is capable of controlling 2.0 motor, what happens with the variable intake geometry selenoid? Or is it vacuum activated? Just curious.

Then the 2.0 ecu should be able to control the 1.6 as well right?

their is a difference between actuation and triggering

the VGIS is vacuum actuated indeed but it is triggered by an electric solenoid and that is controlled by the ECU (it actuates triggers the solenoid at 3500 or 4000 RPMs to actuate the VGIS... bypassing that solenoid in the 1.6 to 2.0 swap was the option we used
