Nubaroo - new dyno results 12 September 2008
Hi there all. Just had the car on the dyno getting it ready for the Hot Hatch Festival 2008 at Tarlton racetrack on 14 September 2008. We were battling with the fuelling before, there was not enough fuelling to run the car @ 1.5bar boost However |I found the inline fuel filter clogged (probably from all the race mixes I was running ) and replaced it. We were able to run the car @ 1.5 bar boost today with an AVGAS?TUolene mix of 70/30%, and the fuelling was ferfect. The injector duty cycle did not go above 80%. The fuel pressure was sitting @ 3.7bar without boost, climbing to 5.3 bar on 1.5 bar boost. I am over the moon with the final results and I am hoping to crack a 12 second run this Sunday
Will keep u guys updated

Thanks buddy. The limiter is set at 7000RPM. This enables me to stay nicely in boost during shifts. I am not sure why my tuner stopped the dyno plot at 6500rpm. If I want to rev higher I will have to get a "rev kit" for the Nubira head, and some Billet cams to move the power band higher. But as this is my daily drive I prefer the power band a little lowerEfrain A. wrote:285KW, 514Nm is about 382.19hp and 379lb/ft
very nice numbers!!!
is the limiter set to 6500? you cant tune the engine up to 7500 for a better powerband?

@ daewoomofo - thanks bud
@ Nexia 182 - will do my best . This HHF08 is a streetcar shootout between Opel/Daewoo, Ford Focus ST, Golf GTi, Renault and Seat. Then there will still be some odd cars competing as well. Hoping to crack a 12, but I think that is just wishfull thinking

Well I went to the races at Tarlton today....not very happy with the day`s results. My best time for the day was 13.8 sec @ 178KM/H
The track was NOT prepared and it had VERY little traction - I found the Woo was wheelspinning in 1st, 2nd and a bit in 3rd gear as well. Even with "feathering" the gas pedal it would just break into a wheelspin again. Hell on the way back from the races I got better traction on just a normal stretch of road Still managed to give hidings to all the cars I raced though

Nice numbers, just watch out for that 5.3 bar on the fuel pressure.
Many injectors are only rated for a maximum of 5 bar fuel pressure.
Don't get me wrong, I've heard many guys test their injectors and manage to get up to 5.9 to 6.2 bar range before they freeze.
I've even seen aftermarket injectors that claim a 6.8 Bar (100psi) maximum operating pressure.
What brand /size of injectors did you end up going with?

Thanks for the encouragement bud - 5 October 2008 is the next runs at the airfield. Mods to be done to the car by then is - 4 x 850cc precision injectors, T3/T4 thick shaft turbo with T61 compressor wheel, double up on size on the intercooler, and an LSD . Traction should be much better with the LSDnexia182 wrote:sometimes the track is not in good conditions and the results are not the best, but it doesnt matter next time you could run at 12s!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with the 12`s at your next race meet Keep us posted please

@ Precisionboost - I am still running my old 500cc bosch style injectors, in conjunction with an Bosch(Kombi) high flow high pressure fuel pump. This together with the increased fuel pressure allows for ample fuelling for the power I am making(injectors running at 70%). Not sure what brand they are exactly, but what I do know is that they are noisy as hell.....when the car is idling it sounds like noisy lifters Looking at upgrading to 850cc Precision injectors soon, then I will drop the fuel pressurs as per your recomendations - thanks for the advice
