My Mazdaspeed 3 on the dyno
Yes.... it's not a Daewoo.... but I figured I would post my Dyno results as they were very impressive for a completely 100% stock car.

The drop off in torque is due to the fact that the turbo on the 2.3L engine is fairly small.... so it makes boost right away... but it can't support enough flow to keep the torque curve flat.
If the turbo was upgraded to a larger unit it would spool up slower but it would be able flow enough to keep the torque curve flat.
If that happened and it continued to make 290 lbft of torque up to 6000 RPM before dropping off the car would theoretically make 331 whp without changing the maximum boost levels.
We did one other run with the engine hot and no air going through the intercooler and the difference was significant.... so there is definitly room for improvement when it comes to the stock intercooler.
I bought this car because it was awesome from stock and I swore I would never upgrade it.... but I just can't get over the thought of how a slightly larger turbo would really help the power band on this car and make it way more fun (with stock boost)

Based upon this graph my optimal shift point is about 5500 RPM..... since that is when the power is going down and is equal to the power coming upwards at lower RPM on the next gear

Just found this thread..... I've been wondering for a while what the stock MSP3 dyno looks like. I've driven the MSP6 and this graph confirms what I felt with the but dyno lol. HUGGGEE torque around 3000rpm, and then it seemed to die off severely after 5500 or so. Why does the the ECU open the W/G after 6000RPM?? This car would definitely benefit from a larger turbo

Forgot about this ...... I was still curious why does the w/g open at 6000rpm? That really kills the top end

It opens before that just not completely open, although it is quite late i think as when it's completely open that's when you're at the max boost the car is set for right? It opens graduallly giving a smoother power delivery.
Ps. I love those Masda 3 MPS. Such a georgous car. What're they like to drive? And is there any pics of yours up? Always been one new car i've been really fond off, moreso over the Astra VXR, Ford Focus ST and the Golf GTI

Well ya it has to open a certain amount to control the boost..... but I don't see why they would make it go fully open by 6000rpm, that means for sure your boost will drop off and power will fall as well. I don't know why it opens at 6K... it might be to limit horsepower.
There are a number of guys who have installed their own digital boost controller and ran the car at 18psi all the way up to redline...which really makes a huge power difference.
I bought this because it had the power I wanted complely stock.... I just wanted a fun daily driver.
Right now it has the winter rims on it because I ended up driving it during this winter ( I also have a couple of trucks insured so I drove them in 4X4 on really bad days )
I have a Lanos winter car but I couldn't get the stupid 1.5L/1.6L Hybrid running ( stupid oil pump!!!! )
I will be dropping something into the Lanos this summer so it will be functional for winter this year.
Here is a picture of the beast ( a bit dirty... I don't spend much time cleaning it )
with the 6spd, limited slip and decent summer tires it's a fun car.
It has a stability mode which will brake the tires independantly.... giving slight oversteer sometimes right at the limit of grip (really wierd feeling for a FWD car )
Gas mileage isn't too bad.... but then again I don't pay much attension.
I have managed to push it down into the 2mpg area during hard full boost pulls in 2nd ( it has a gauge to tell you fuel usage )
But for the most part I think I'm getting upwards of 20MPG and I drive like a maniac most of the time.
