My Halloween costume! :)

Post by TheGreatAndPowerfulOz »

I finished sewing my costume today! WOOHOO!!

What really sucked it I had to make it all by hand; my sewing machine is broken. :(

Anyway, it looks pretty good! I need to put on black makeup around my eyes to make the mask look better.

One photo I edited the eyes black so it would look almost like it will with the black makeup.

Me too.
I work Sat night AND Sun night.

The party I'm going to is Friday night. It is a combination Halloween party and a 'Welcome Home from Iraq' party for one of my best friends.

So I don't know if you guys of heard this, It is actually pretty big. The Puyallup School District has banned Halloween this year. We are not allowed to dress up. If we do we will be suspended. I'm protesting this by dressing up anyway. It is an infrigment on our first admendment rights. We have a large group of protestors and we have some major groups to help us.
When I get more info I'll let you guys in if you want.

I don't agree with what they are doing, but I can see their point.
You have to try to see all sides of the arguement.

School is a place for learning.

Costumes can and will distract people from their school work.

It is possible for this distraction to disrupt the class.

Some people's costumes may be more of a distraction than others, for example, how hard is it to concentrate when the girl next to you is in a short skirt school girl's uniform costume? I mean, even the male teachers would have a hard time (pun intended - LOL) teaching with that in front of them.

Some costumes could be dangerous, too, such as tripping over a cape or a tail.

I can also see your point, too.

Halloween is for fun.

Everyone deserves a break from the every day mundane routine.

Its great to show everyone your creativity and what you can come up with that is orrigional.

Perhaps the reason they are banning costumes is they have had prior problems or accidents that were directly caused by one or more person's costume(s).

Just think about stuff like that and find out what their reason is before you get too upset.

The costumes already had to "safe" and "school Approiate" in years past, But this year they say we are offending the Wiccins and other groups. I found this info and I am sending it to every official in the distric. They are going down.

After reading this you will see why they are wrong and can't do what they are doing.

OZ, just one tip. Use some black Make-up or face paint around your eyes.
