ok, so ive been looking at buying a Optra. And I've went into the dealership 2x now and i keep gettng this Moron (for lack of a better) that comes to me.
He knows nothing about the car and can't even pitch a sale!....I asked him for the key so i could look in the car start it up and what not before a test drive
and he was like ok. He then stood there for a min with his hands in his pockets looking at me. I was like umm...Keys??...he then precided to talk about random BS that i didnt really care about.
Finally walked away and came back after 20 mins with the keys. Then he opens the door to the car and he stands in the way of me getting in. He was just looking at me as i tried to slowly get into the seat. One of the most awkward situations ive ever been in. So i get into the car and he decided to lean into the car and point things out to me, hes Over top of me. First thing that went through my mind was WTF are you doing! Why cant you just go into the passgener seat and point this stuff out.
So he lets me take it for a test drive, Alone....kinda odd but i guess my car was there so guess he wasnt to concerned. I get back to the dealership after the test drive and I say to the guy, is there any issues with the car like accidents and what not. He looked at me for a min. I then precided to ask can i have its into and history report. He was like yeh lets go into my office. So we go into the office and he gets the info and then he goes so is this a deal. I look at him and kinda laugh. We havent discussed price or anything as of yet. and hes about 4K over what the car is actally worth.
This is at a dealership, I think its a utter joke. It just amazes me on how stupid someone can be...I thought you had to have some smarts to do sales. I use to do sales before and I've never met anyone as dumb as this guy.
end rant....

Re: Car salesman rant.
my word of advice, dont buy the car from him. if you return to the dealership and he approches you, tell him you want a different associate. if he says no, ask for the supervisor. tell them what you just ranted about.
Re: Car salesman rant.
Oh i am, I've contacted the dealer and made them well aware of the issue and told them I refuse to deal with him and If i deal with another assosiate like him I will refuse to deal with them. I will go somewhere else to get what I want.daewoomofo wrote:my word of advice, dont buy the car from him. if you return to the dealership and he approches you, tell him you want a different associate. if he says no, ask for the supervisor. tell them what you just ranted about.

Re: Car salesman rant.
Well, Had 2 phone calls today. One when I wasnt home and one around 5. It was a new guy from the dealership. He just wanted to call and touch base with me to see how everything was going. Said he was sorry for what had happened and wanted to know if i was still interested in dealing with them and if im still interested in the car. I said if they want to come down on the price i might think about it. But as it stands i Think i can get a better deal from a someone else. Im still just debating on if i want to own a hatch back or not

hatches are great, more room for hauling stuff. if you worried about people seeing what you have back there just get the windows limo tinted....problem solved
Re: Car salesman rant.
1st i would say "i need private space" to the guy
i remember when my brother was buying a mustang... the sales man started talking about his family that he needs to put food on his table, it just came out of know where, i was like wtf?

LOL Yeh I can see it, the first moron started talking about what he was gonna to that night with his wife when i asked him for the keys....Totally random shit ever! Like I did sales for a large Corporation and I never Once busted out family stuff unless i was on a person to person relationship with the client. You keep that stuff seperate. But evidently some people that dosent make sence too.buddha102 wrote:1st i would say "i need private space" to the guy

Lol he sounds like a right wab.
The hatches don't look anywhere near as good as the saloons in my honest opinion. I'd love a saloon. But then again, PrecisionBoost's hatchback was so nice looking and had very minimal mods when i saw it, lowered, rims, nice low prfile tyres, and it looked the dogs danglies.
That salesman sounds like a tool. I think working in a place like that it'd be nice to brush up on good points and bad points on cars. Especially for the sales pitch, you could tell them minor bad thing but overshadow it with a big, BUT, then epxlain the bad bits just so you seem genuine. I know being genuine in a job like that doesn't pay the bills, but people trust you a lot more when they believe what you're saying.
