Post by MMamdouh »

congrats for Obama for winning the elections

question for the US citizens: how does it feel to have a new precedent?? i am only asking as the last time a similar event happened in here was 28 years ago and i was only 2 years old :?

Arizona is far from having a "redneck" Senator... but thanks. I'm not saying Obama was the wrong choice... I didn't vote for him, but i do believe both candidates have some pretty piss poor platforms... McCain wasn't too old to do a 4 year term... 8 though? yes...

The media has been brutal on McCain, obama not so much... I think no matter who was president much change was coming to the white house... Republicans wanted to clean out their closet.. and dems wanted to prove they could work out better than this 8 year plan named Bush...

I do take offense to McCain being a "Redneck" though, as you do not know the man personally... I would say having lived in arizona and meeting him... he's actually a great guy...

i don't to agree with you... But i at least would respect your point of view and I'll support, and respect obama regardless of how he fairs in his presidency too, just as I respect McCain.

Meh.

Personally I think anything is a step up from Bush ..... I don't think either of the candidates were a bad choice.

I have to think Obama won because he was the least "Bush" like person in the race.

McCain tried to distance himself but the problem was that he's a republican.... so he had to support Bush at times when certain decisions needed to be made.... where as Obama had a choice to oppose him.

So it's somewhat unfair for McCain to be compared to Bush like he was.

Hopefully Obama has the right stuff to get everyone's confidence back up so we can all pull out of this economic slump ( Canada is directly linked to the USA Economy so we feel things just about as bad )

In the end.... personally.... I'm just glad to see a change..... Bush should not have been re-elected last term.

im just very glad that bush is getting out of the white house. obama is more for the working person, where as mccain is for the ceo's and the rich guy. i think that bush shouldnt have ever been elected, but having your brother on your side sure does help.....

obama will not be in charge until january 20, 2009, but i hope (and think) things will change for the better, only time will tell.

Not an American, but I would have voted for Obama if I could.

Sarah Palin aside from being kinda hot, is a complete moron. It would be truely scary to see her as a vice president when she can't even answer questions in political debates. I've just never seen anyone so dumb running for VP.

I agree... anything is a step up from bush... I really didn't think he deserved to be reelected in 2004 but couldn't vote then, as i wasn't old enough =(

Oddly Bush is also the only President to have the Highest ever recorded approval ratings and also the lowest ever approval ratings... I really didn't think he deserved to be reelected in 2004 but couldn't vote then, as i wasn't old enough so i had no effect on that election =( =(

I just hope no one's opinion of McCain is "redneck" I can see how some people wouldn't like him... And that makes sense, there are just as many reasons i don't like McCain probably... I have a lot of reasons I disliked Obama too... but that doesn't make either of them rednecks.

in palin's defense though... She really had no idea that she was going to be picked, and that was very very apparent... She had no reason to study the platform as she had no aspiration to become the VP choice... there were so many others looking to grab that slot... but i do have to say, her responses were terrible... I'm pretty sure Obama has the idea of picking Biden long before announcing so... Which is a GREAT choice honestly... Joe Biden at one time was and may still be Good friends with Senator McCain... Thus... Knew his weaknesses. THey were on plenty of committees together, allowing biden to know inside information about the guy... Obama made an Excelent choice in VP too because he's actually a pretty smart guy, not the smartest... but pretty smart...

I think palin just kinda got thrown in there as a Desperate measure to try to woo women voters who had obviously placed their confidence with Obama... It didn't work at all either =P

if she got threw in there then maybe she should have said to mccain...no i'm just not ready for vp yet. that would have been the wiser thing to do...much better than attempting to do something she wasn't ready for.

I agree with that... I don't think that was the smartest move, but on all other fronts she may be pretty intelligent...
