gas-saving tips

Post by KING_3 »

hey guys, any tip and tricks you can share on saving gas?
especially on the driving style with Daewoos? (because you know different manufacturers put different programming on their cars)

hope to hear some nice inputs. as i'm trying to find all ways to save gas due to high prices. many thanks!

don't over rev,
drive like old people do (slowly)
fill up the tank over 1/2 way (less gas in tank, means the engine does not need to use more gas to carry in)
same wiegh take out any thing u don't need

change fluids regulary, keep good spark plugs, and wires on the car. clean air filter. clean fuel filter, keep your tires inflated. stay below 65 mph. no sudden brakeing (unless you have to) dont gun it off of the line. if your on a long trip, stay behind a big vehicel as in a semi truck, dont tail gate them, just follow them, they will be cutting through the air reducing drag on your car saveing you fuel.

Push it or get towed :D

Nah but really, anything worse while doing was said by mofo. Especially the staying behind larger cars on motorways etc and keeping tyres inflated.

It's different if you're genuinely in a hurry, but hate people that sit right up your bacon, the go around you, then get stuck at a set of straffic lights half a mile down the road and you end up right behind them again.

Can't see the logic.

i don't know why either but sometimes i just can't stand being behind ppl. something irks me that someone else controls how fast i go when they're in front of me. not so bad now since i'm in the pickup but when i was driving the woo even if you were speeding in front of me if i caught up you weren't going fast enough. control issue i think. lol

buy a vacume guage.

doing these things i pulled 38mpg with 50/50 city/hwy driving. not too bad i dont think.
