Couldn't you have gone to a driver improvement course and had the points dropped? My dad recently got pulled @ 37 over the limit, cop lowered it to 27 (Which is still a nice fine), he spent 4 hrs on www.lowestpricetrafficschool.com , had no points on his license and it lowered the fine by some percentage. Or would this not work because you had to go to court.

P.S. I recently got pulled over doing 110 mph down a deserted stretch of road (couldn't resist, don't worry, no traffic, I'm not retarded). Speed limit was 45, so @ 65 over the limit I would have probabally gotten jail time and license suspension and a major fine. Yet...I didn't even get a ticket...or a warning. I'm a magician...

no you plead guilty but pay a lawyer to get it taken off your record. i've heard people do this before but i'm not sure if they made arrangements with a lawyer before the court date or not. i would just call the courts and ask about it or (not sure if it was you) call the family lawyer to see if he knows what i'm talking about.

pay the fine....

but pay 15 dollars over.... when they issue a refund check, rip it up and don't cash it...

if the check never clears they can't mark it on your record

that would be cheaper than a lawyer b/c you have to pay them like $300 or so. unless he already paid.

I was doing 130 in a 55 zone across a bridge in my Leganza when I was pulled by an Alcohol Beverage Control agent (not a regular cop) in an unmarked Pontiac Grand Prix. LOL

He filled the ticket out wrong and didn't put me speed on the ticket.
I hired a lawyer who was old friends with my father, who was also old friends with the judge and the cop.
The judge gave me 30 mph over the limit and a $150 fine. The ticket put 6 points on my license, but I went to traffic school and that took 5 points off.

I *could* have gotten jail time, up to a $2500 fine and lost my license. I was very lucky.
