I have been m8. Will be at least a month or two before I'm ready to get a new one. Got a few thigns coming up, paying for lessons, few birthdays etc, new job [Have to do a lie in week, and now get paid monthly :/ ] etc, so will be a while before ive the money up again. Will keep looking. There's one in Belfast that i know off, think it might be clean as the guy regularly drives it. A 5dr blue Nexia.

Im definatly not going for the first one I see. I'm gonna take my time in getting a new one, im not in a big rush for it tbh.
Until then I'm gonna get things like my wheels sorted, maybe my seats recovered, or just the sides of the buckets as one's tore. Fiddly stuff like that whilst I save up for a new car.

if i were in england, and had the money I'd have this bought right now..

That grey's a pretty rare colour for them. Most are Red, Blue or Green from my experiences

well... how bout saving up some money (take your time, no rush) then come over to england for a weekend or even a week... go to several car dealerships, find a nexia you like, buy it... then drive/ship it bk to ireland.

just an idea...although i dnt know about how quick its gona be sorting out insurance and registration etc. so maybe buying a car in a short holiday is a bit far fetched. dunno.

If i ever was going to buy a car from england, unless I had other reasons to go over, I'd just get the seller to send me some pictures of the car, pictures of where is most likely to go rust wise, pictures of structural points and places where it may have been crashed into, and then i'd run a backround check on it, before showing a penny tbh. But I don't think i'd go over to get one unless I'm going over for a few things, picking up a few engines or something, or maybe even another Nexia/Astra.

I've 200 bills sitting here, prob 150 after the weekend, getting to worl/lunch/out on saturday. Then after that I'm going into save mode. If i've still got a job that is. Just realised i still have forms here I was supposed to send back within 10 days of getting them, but i got them right in the middle of my exams and put them to the side. Got them on the 11th of Jan :/

Not good at all like.

Went to see a nexia the same colour as ivans.

Not too sure though, price was right, but it had a few bad spots. No wing mirrors [but im putting my m3 ones on anyway so...] there was a patch on the wing that looked like someone masked it up and sprayed a rectangle on it, then took the tape off and realised it was the wrong colour. Few blisters in the sills nothing tooooo major, and there was a hefty size hole in one of the rear pockets but the other side was sound.

Dunno what to do. not 100% sure the moneys right for what it is... and also there's some issues with the tax book..

I've sourced another red one i might be able to pick up cheap but its that flame red, the realllly red one. Dont like the colour at alkl but then again i didnt like my green when i bought the car i have atm.

Other than that, there's another green hatchback in the autotrader for 450 gbp. Bit much for a nexia but if it's reallllllllly clean i'd definatly coincider it. I think it's that price cause it has MOT though. Most cars that are MOT'd go for around 500, as people use them for run arounds for a year...

[edit]:Phoned the guy about the green one. It's mot'd and taxed for a while yet, which kinda satisfies the 450 he's looking. It's also only got 50,000 miles from new. And he recently done the belt and is geting an oil seen done atm, probably rocker cover or oil sump. It does justify what he's looking for but I don't care about MOT, Tax, Or the engine so I dont know if me paying 450 for it would be worth it.. It sounds like a pretty clean car. The fella who's selling it, his wife only does 2000 miles a year in it. And it seems well looked after from how he described it.

There wont be any expense spared with my next one, I just want a semi clean one to start with and i'll keep it that way, clean. ANd won't let rust get ontop of me...

i think £450 is more than reasonable enough if the car is still in good condition, and the milage aint too bad either.

go and have a look at the car, see if you can find any bad points about it, and then drive him down to £400.

i'd say go for it... but then again, you can also pick up a much newer lanos for about the same price (but it probly wont be well looked after)

I had a chance to get a lanos for 150. Just don't like them m8.

400, for a clean clean nexia I wouldnt have a problem paying for, but the reason his is over 400 is because he's took care of the engine. But sure i'm gonna drop my 2.0 into it so I couldnt care less about the engine y'anno? I know everywhere where these cars fall apart, all the flaws and where to look. So i won't be going easy. If im paying 400 i will want a clean one. As miserable as that sounds...

The other one, the one the same colour as Ivans i went to look at, had 1 bad patch in the chassis, one of the rear pockets had a hole, instant put off for me, but it was definatly fixable. the other side was sound. The wing had that retarded looking patch. sills were getting rough but again, fixable. And i was getting the car for 180. But there were issue with the tax book and the guy had a run with the police in the car etc etc, and i just said fuck t, it'd be more hassel than it's worth.

One of the other nexia's i know about from around here, drove past me today. Was sickened, had seen it a few times, was wondering where it was from [actually what sparked my question about the license plates and finding out wher ethe cars registered too], and as it drove past, i looked at the side of it and it looked like someone who was driving it, went round a corner too tighly and scraped the whole side of it on a corner of some sort, was all dented in too. Or someone may have bumped into it? Dunno. But was sickened none the less :( One less nexia floating about that;s actually worth something i guess lol..

Went to see that Nexia. the one for 450.

I took it ^^

Got him down to 400. Was quite easy actually. I showed genuine interest in it. honestly genuine interest, and i said to him after looking it over with my friend, 400\s my budget m8. Which it really was. Infact i don't have 400 atm but can get it by the time i pick it up Gave him a 150 deposit.

It's a 3 door hatch, green, 42U paint code, still got original GLXI Alloy wheels. Really clean, 50000 genuine miles, engine always taken care off. MOT'd in september so it's mechanically and structurally sound. New brakes lines etc put in. Probably will need new fuel lines and new brake lines to the back disks soon enough, but not worried about that yet. Interior is IMMACULATE. Boot's immaculate, car was generally really clean. Pockets are fine, small tiny bit of rust on the arch, but pretty much all them have that. Sills were good too. Didnt get a picture off it, was really flustered tbh. Almost forgot to get a receipt for it if the fella hadn't said to me did i want one.

Gonna give him the other 250 when i pick it up in a week or two. 3 at the most. He was even fine about me not having room for it for 2 weeks. Was a really nice fella. He's parking it around the side of his house out of the way for me. Which really suits me as its outta view and means no one walking past will bang into it or scrape it.

I'm so happy :D

New project upcoming in the next few weeks. First things first, getting it greased up to fuck!

Plans:
Engine out, f20 put on, engine in. Scrap old shell.
Interior out, greased up, Astra GTE interior in. Digi dash etc.
Suspension out, struts, brakes and new rear suspension arm in.
Fiddly bits taken care off and all my spare parts sorted out and put out of the road.

Got a lot of extras now with braking one car, new disks, pads, calipers, spare set of wheels, wing mirrors, boot hatch bonnet etcetc. Things are starting to look up :)

I won't be back at the car for a week or so. Took the plugs out of the rear pockets as i was leaving. The guy [was an old guy] was like What are they? what are you doing that for? I noticed a bit of water hording in the boothatch above the pockets. Probably just a seal gone. And i took the plugs out from underneath the car at the pockets, just reached under and popped them out. Water started driping out of them nearly immediatly XD

Just said, if it's gonna be lying here for about 2 weeks I want the water to drain out and taking these out helps that if the water's getting in around there. He just smiled and said 'You really do know your way about these cars dont you' lol. Conpliment of the week!

Yay ^^

It's a more blue-ier green than my one atm. Not as dark unfortunatly. Really fell in love with the colour of my old Nexia. But sure. Didnt really like that.. orangy, browny colour they call RUST.

Can't wait to get it started. I'll get some pics and stuff up as sooooooooooon as i get the car.

Hm. I've been thinking a lot about this new Nexia coming my way.

The engine is a low miler for it's age. And has been taken care off. I was gonna keep the engine in and drive it until it dies then put my 2.0 in. But I'm gonna do it the opposite way around. Because of time and money etc, i'm putting the 2.0 in at the start, but want to keep the Daewoo one with the engine harness still attached.

What all is there to the Nexia engine harness? Usually, we just cut it and take it outta the road and feed the opel engine harness through.
I've never done this before so i've no idea what to keep etc.

[EDIT]

Doenst matter, getting the car tomorrow. Gonna plunk the 2.0 in straight away, no messing about with the 1.5.

Got my whole car stripped today. Engine, steering and suspension, interior and some exterior bits and bobs.
School 9-1:30 then car from 1:30 to 11:00 ><

I'm tired. G'night. will post pics of the new car and of my old one being stripped tomorrow. I now have a shed full of spare everythings.
