I bought a TB from him that he was supposed to bore and polish. I spent somewhere under $100 for it, but sold my old one since we was supposed to mail it like two days before disappearing.

Other than that he said he was working up carbon fiber hoods, trunk and roofs for the forenzas. Then lightweight lower control arms and cheap coil-overs. Mabybe a few other things. He ask me if I'd be intrested in being a driver on his race team but I told him I didn't have enough experiance. Uhmm... I think he claimed to have a few forenzas as well

yah pretty much what Kinky said but the coilovers looked to be good quality imported from the UK. They werent "cheap" quality wise. I was waiting for more info about the suspenion stuff and then he disapeared right around new years. Good thing I never sent him any $$ I guess.

Well.... I gave him $1K to build a kevlar/carbon hood for my Optima/Lemans on Feb 21,2007...... he claimed to have purchased a hood from a local autowrecker and was going to have it done some time around the time he ducked out the first time.

He seemed to know his materials and suppliers and he showed me a few pictures of some work done by a family friend. (so he claimed the family friend would help if he needed it )

I know quite a bit about fibreglass so we had a couple good chats about the various resins and he seemed fairly knowlegable in both the materials as well as the methodology required to produce the hood.

I personally have enough knowledge to produce a hood, but I just don't have the time to do it.

I felt $1K was not enough to do the job due to mold costs but he insisted that this would be a "showcase" product for him and he wasn't concerned if he never made a cent off the labor.

I was willing to loose the $1K so it wasn't a huge surprize to me when he didn't produce the hood.... more of a disappointment than anything.

When he did come back this last time he sent me $200 ( August 16,2007 ) and claimed he was hard up for cash ( despite big talk about buying all these cars for racing )

Needless to say.... I'm more annoyed that he failed to produce the hood than I am about loosing the money.

He did a number of engineered drawings for my company (which I didn't pay him for ) so in the end I'm not out that much

Originally I was going to call in a favor with a certain group of bikers to have him found and beat up ( they can collect the money + interest + what ever else and keep every cent for all I care )

The guy I'd be calling is someone I'd rather not... unless it was an absolute emergency... it would be unwise for me to call him for something petty like this.

So in short... he still owes me $800 or a carbon/kevlar hood..... will I ever collect..... well perhaps I might drop by one day ..... since I know where his parents live.... where his cousins live..... where he goes to school... his current address (or at least his last know address )

I was sort of thinking about driving down there and cutting his Lanos in half for the fun of it..... it would be priceless to take a video of him coming out of his house to find the car in two pieces..... it would be really quite easy and quick with a plasma torch.

But I suppose by saying that I might consider doing that out here on this public forum I have just implicated myself...... so I won't cut it in half despite my interest in doing so.

I do have a talent for thinking up really mean things to do... and I have the mechanical smarts to back it up.... so who knows.... an anonymous video might make it's way onto here one day.

Ya... well... I kind of pegged him for a flake... we had a few other projects on the go but I pulled out of everything but the hood project prior to him leaving the first time.

Well PirO.... I'd like it if you got on my bad side.... then I'd have a good excuse to come visit Ireland and work things out over a couple dozen pints of beer.... and I could test drive some of those wonderfull roads I see on Top Gear.

It takes quite a bit to piss me off....... and I will work things out or even forgive debt if I think the person is relatively honest.... but Kenny is far from honest.

Here's some old stuff http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerouser?cmd ... &id=296352

It's kind of fun digging up new stuff..... last time I talked to him he was moaning about health problems... but it still looks like he hasn't kicked the bucket.... so one day... I might just see some money out of him

Maybe he's dead.

Check the local news stories.

He always did seem to talk a lot of garbage. I remember when he came on the board describing his Lanos...sure he had pretty good technical knowledge...but his Lanos was VERY ricey. I'm not being mean...but painted headlights, Wal-Mart hubs, eBay spoiler, non-functional hood scoop...It seemed pretty hideous.

Then he went into big talk about parts, plans, dyno time etc.

I especially didn't believe his dyno stories...that his Lanos was doing something like 148 HP and 112 TQ on basic mods...It seemed fishy.

Then he went away for personal reasons (I think his wife had a miscarriage)

Then he must have come back during my hiatus (I was just super-busy with school).

But yeah...

I got an odd email today, it says it's from Kenny Cornett, tell me if you think the name is a crazy coincidence or or if Kenny is still around and just moved on to scam on others?

here the e-mail...
  • Hi,
How are u doing these days?Yesterday I found a web of a large
trading company from china, which is an agent of all the well-known
digital product factories, and facing to both
wholesalers, retailsalers, and personal customer all over the world.
They export all kinds of digital products and offer most competitive
and reasonable price and high quality goods for our clients,so i think
we you make a big profit if we do business with them. And they promise
they will provide the best after-sales-service.In my opinion we can
make a trial order to test that. Look forward to your early reply!
    The Web address:http://ieiec.com/
the email was sent out to a ton of people, I'm wondering if he sent me one by mistake!?

...actually I know it's Kenny, take a look at some o f the other emails he sent it to.

take a look at all the other email addresses he has! it looks like once he burns enough people using one address he opens a new one.
that's how you can tell it was an email he sent to all the addresses in his email, he even sent himself the email!

That http://ieiec.com/ site has spyware/malware so I wouldn't suggest going onto that site...perhaps he was infected with a virus and it is spamming everyone in his address book
