EBAY Lanos going really cheap..

Post by PrecisionBoost »

I was fooling around on EBAY and I came accross this Lanos in Florida that is selling really cheap.... there are 2 hours left and it's at $330USD

I'd buy it myself but the shipping costs to my location in north western Canada would be about five times the current bid on the vehicle.

I'm in Tampa, I was actually thinking about it, but I don't really need a new car. I could use it as a parts car but IDK. Engine doesn't work, but seems easy to fix, whole cost would come to like $500USD with all the fees.

Who ever is selling it is throwing away an easy $1000!

Well the Hancock car went for $610 and the first one in Tampa went for $540 plus a $150 administration fee.

Those would have made good parts cars or project cars.

If I lived near these cars this is what I would have done:

Purchase the Florida one up for about $700,
Buy a used Nubira engine for $1000 (with wiring)
Buy a manual D20 transmission from a Nubira for $550
Buy an engine mount for a 1991 Lemans 2.0L for $30

So for about $2300 you could have a kick ass 2.0L manual Lanos.

I would say that you could probably have the engine, transmission, wiring and misc parts installed for about $1500 to $2000

So for about $4000 you could have a 2.0L Lanos with only 8000miles on the engine

If you wanted you could also put in the 2.2L Leganza engine for a couple hundred more... it's just a stroked 2.0L engine so it should will fit as well.

Here is the engine I would have put in.... from car-part.com... only 8000 miles on it!
