Well... got the muffler fixed. It's damn quiet now! hehe
But aparently, the front left control arm and ball joint are in sad shape and need replacing... ugh... haha I knew I would have to fix a few things when I bought it. Oh well.
I ended up getting an OEM Muffler. I couldn't find any other brands that would fit in it that I could get for a reasonable price.
Kinda nice though, I can hear the engine instead of the exhaust now. Ordered my control arm and ball joint for $40 + $10 shipping (USD). Need to look through the repair manual and see if there is something in there about those.
Oh boy... that doesn't look like a very easy replacement (Just finished reading all about replacing the control arm and ball joint). Not to mention I need to find some special tool to remove the ball joint and I'll need a proper torq-wrench.
Like I said, I'm new to really getting my fingers into fixing up my car. I'm a quick study though.
well if you can do it yourself and you have the time go at it. i personally would love to do it myself but never really have the time. plus if someone else messes it up they pay for it if i mess it up i pay someone else to fix it.
Yeah... The sad part is that the guy at the shop said he would install them for me if I got the parts, but for $30 more then I'm paying for the parts.
Anyone else installed a control arm/ball joint setup and found it to be not TOO hard.
With something like that, I'm almost afraid to do it myself and screw it up since it would mean my car might crash into something if I don't do it right. Of course, there's nothing saying that the guy at the shop is going to get it quite right either.
Kalamazoo recently became a very popular city to have your kids enrolled in public schools...
Some extremely rich people created a scholorship for any child enrolled in Kalamazoo schools that pays for ALL of their college... all the kid has to do is graduate with a 2.0 to qualify. Cool eh?
damn wish i lived there. i think the guy lived on Liberty st or something like that. but yeah i thought i would just mention it since you were on here.
