Wow.... I just went by a Suzuki dealership on the other side of the city and they have a Swift (aka Aveo) that was setup with 205/40/17 tires and some really nice rims.
Boy I liked the look of it..... really mean with the wider tires.
It was in this neat Copper color..... too bad I didn't have a digital camera with me to show you guys.

I test drove the 4dr hatchback (wagon?) Aveo a few days ago, and it's power was, well, dissapointing.
Compared to my Lanos hatchback, the Aveo felt a LOT slower to take off and get up to speed. It also had no power button on the shifter.
When I accellerated hard to pass another car, the car took it's sweet time and did not shift down to get extra power the way my Lanos does.
I really liked how comfortable it was inside, how the seats felt and the amount of leg room, but I did not like the lack of accelleration or how overly sensative the power steering was.
Maybe it was just that particular car I drove, but it was nothing I would run out and buy, primarily because of it's lack of power compared to my Lanos.
If I could have the accelleration that my Lanos has, and the power steering a little less sensative, the whole experience of the test drive would have been much better. Too bad they did not have any 5 speed Aveos on the lot for me to try.
The car I drove had no cruise control, but it had a nice sunglasses holder above the driver's door by the ceiling, which I am going to order and install in my Lanos.
On a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being bad, and 10 being good.
Performance: 6
Comfort: 9
Rear cargo room: 6
Front leg room: 9
Rear leg room: 8
Dash lay out: 9
Factory CD stereo that plays MP3s: 10

I know all that but I just posted the link for FYI. Some people may think of them as throwaway cars but that does not make them such. People (in general) never considered a Daewoo a "buyable" car much less one you would have to throw away. I think its obvious that previous generation Swifts can still be made interesting cars just like Daewoos. No need to hate...or did I misunderstand?

Oh no, I'm not hating at all.
There is a midto late 90s 2 door Metro near my father's house that looks very nice.
Dark green, dark tinted windows, lowered suspension, nice wheels, black bra over the nose and all the badges & names have been shaved.
It is a very nice looking car.
I was just commenting that the Metris/Swifts have gotten the reputation as throw away cars because the people that usually buy them do not take care of them, so they die an untimely death.

But, if you're a car fanatic, then you could pick one up real cheap and fully customize one and not see a copy on every street corner. I like that about the Lanos...except that now I am back in the US, I live in BFE and I have no access to anything import car related. 
You know, getting a Cultus AWD drive train and swapping that onto and American Swift would make one hell of a sleeper that would catch a lot of people off guard. I'm a big AWD guy and thats why I want to find out more about swapping in a GTi-R AWD onto a Lanos. :twisted:
