jack stand points URGENT
hey, where are you guys putting the jackstands when you work under the car???
their is that half moon cut in the bottom of the door steps, one in the front and the other is in the back... that is the strongest part in the body that can safly support the car's weight.

the half-moon shapes are great for the stock jack because the jack is made to hold it there.
if you put stands there, you'll bend the frame of the car (the folded metal there)
i tried to jack it up by usinf the half-moons and a standard floor jack to only see major deflection on the metal
can you put them on the suspension bar thing (in the rear) that connets the two sides?
i'm going to measure and cut a 2x4 so that i can make blocks for my jack and stands to sit on

i stopped using the standard jack years ago because it is pathetic... i am now using a 2 ton crocodile shaped jack and i lift the car at the same spot where the half moons exists... no bents their whatsoever.
if you lift the car at that very same lip but away from the half moon then you will end up bending it as it is not incorced as the half moon part.
as for the suspension thing... i think it is doable based on where to put the stand... i always ame at the points where the suspension part is linked to the chassis.

The bending happens when the jack you use does not have grooves that are big enough to go over the lip that sticks down from the jack point on the car.
I put jack stands at those points because the tops of the jack stands I use have a slot in their tops so the lip on the car fits down into them.
