anyone else get a letter form their dealership?

Post by lanos2001 »

well i got a letter saying the dealership wanted to buy back my lanos. i just laughed b/c they said they would pay up to $1500 over the blue book which would only be at the most $3500 which isn't bad if you kept it stock but hell i've put in about $4000 or so into the car. it said they wanted to buy back like 50 lanoses all together i guess for parts b/c they wouldn't be able to sell them again to make a profit. i wonder what they would offer me if i went up there after i paint my car? they probably wouldn't even want it.

well i was just wondering if anyone else got the same type of letter.

So it would be $5,000 for your woo (highest).... very interesting. Did it say why they are doing it? I probably would consider doing it after I convert it back (or partially back) to stock.

i think they're goin by trade in value but you have the sport so you have most of the extra features. mine came up to like $2100 trade-in. i got the base model like nothing power except steering i was almost surprised that it came with a/c.

My ex's base model Lanos came with everything (power windows, power locks, power mirrors, A/C, CD & cassette stereo) and was the same price as my base model with only A/C. The one she picked out was the only car on the lot with all those options, or I'd have gotten one like it.

I think GM may be buying some of them up to see how the engine hold up. Last I heard some Aveos were having engine probl;ems, and they can't figure it out. maybe if they see how the Lanos has a better setup, they will put the Lanos parts on like the intake mani, head. Don't know

I actually got that letter from a Kia/Mitsubishi dealership. "Trade in your Daewoo Lanos now and get $1200 above retail towards your purchase of a new Kia/Mitsubishi."

Too bad I would only get like $1300 with a modified Daewoo with 190,000 miles.

Needless to say, the letter went into the confetti shredder.
