it was a decent car but the only two problems i saw in it was weak body redgidity and funky behaviour from suspension... you could see those cars bouncing their asses all over the road as if they got no rear shock absorbers.
of corse they look old because they are old design and they used to be fast when they were new... now after some 10 years on Egyptian abrasive streets it almost impossible to see one in a good condition, so much for their durability HUH.
the excel was replaced by the Accent now and i can see it is a far better car than the Excel but still it lags way behind the Woo.

I found a header for a Hyundia Accent. Selling it on ebay really cheap.

I don't want to highjack the suject, but I have a big question, and this is the best place for it.
I have a 95 Accent that I love. Great car(160,000). I was thinking about doing the beta swap( swap engine for a 2.0l) till I realized I would be putting it in a 95. It really isn't worth it. So, I started looking for a 2000 or a 2001 Accent, when I came accross this 2001 Lanos. It is a nice looking car(77,000) and they only want $2900.
So the question is: Is this really a better deal? Is daewoo a better car? and why?
SO far I have checked around for the availablity of common parts, and was suprised that aotuzone had brakes, genarater, wheel cylinder, etc.

Daewoos are great cars!! The only thing you might want to check is if the timing belt has ever been changed... they tend to break at around 50-60k... but everything's possible. Otherwise, I love my Woo and it is very reliable... plus many aftermarket parts are available for it (in terms of suspension especially).Picard wrote:I don't want to highjack the suject, but I have a big question, and this is the best place for it.

i don't know about you side of the world but in here we got both cars, the Lanos with a 1.5 SOHC and the Accent with 1.3 and 1.5 engines... both are decent cars but i have to say that the Lanos is a more durable car than the Accent.
as for parts, its available at http://www.GM-carparts.com

I never drove the '95 Accent, but I do know that the build quality and quality of materials in my Lanos is superior to that of my '94 Excel.
The metal is thicker, the plastic interior materials are better, the mechanical and suspension parts seem to be a little stronger, the car is quieter but the Lanos is noticably less fuel efficient.

Performance cars always have low fuel effecency so its normal.TheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote:I never drove the '95 Accent, but I do know that the build quality and quality of materials in my Lanos is superior to that of my '94 Excel.
